To Be a Stadium Master

For as long as you can remember, you've always watched the Pokemon Stadium tournaments on TV. You enjoy watching the thrills and chills (and sometimes the occasional spills) as the best of the best battle it out for cash, prizes, and other things beyond your wildest dreams.

One day, you receive a letter from your favorite duelist, Maya Nijiiro. She's inviting you to come to the Pokemon Stadium and train to become a Stadium competitor.

Excited by this, you gather your favorite team and race out the door, eager to pursue your dream of becoming a Stadium Master! Will you fight alongside Maya and the other trainers on the circuit? Or will your dreams get pounded to dust in the first rounds?

Concerning teams:

--All Pokemon from all versions are accepted, with levels no higher than 50
--Only ONE legendary allowed per team.
--Mewtwo, Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, Rayquaza, and Deoxys cannot attend

The Pokemon Stadium rents out dorms for trainees to stay in during Training Week. The dorm you stay in determines your team for practice battles.

If you choose to stay in the Ruby dorm, you will be placed on Team Charizard (the red team)
If you choose to stay in the Sapphire dorm, you will be placed on Team Blastoise (the blue team)
If you choose to stay in the Emerald dorm, you will be placed on Team Venusaur
(the green team)
If you choose to stay in the Topaz dorm, you will be placed on Team Pikachu
(the yellow team)

When you arrive at Pokemon Stadium, you need to go to your dorm to get comfortable before reporting to the classroom.

Okay we'll start:

The morning sun peeked inside an office window, illuminating a girl in a tie-dye shirt that was stuffing envelopes with letters---but not just any letters--these were letters to trainers that she herself had chosen to participate in the ultimate Pokemon Stadium tournament! She hoped that there would be plenty of young talent in this years' group, maybe even those worthy enough to join her and her colleagues on the circuit.

"Madame, is that ze last of the letters?" a calm voice with a French lilt asked, jolting the girl from her thoughts.

"Yes, Zelda...this is the last one." she assured the Gardevoir standing by her chair. "If you would, could you deliver them to the post office?"

"Of course, Madame Maya..." and Zelda hovered away with the letters in tow.

Maya sighed and leaned back in her chair, glad to have finished one major chore...next was cleaning the arena and checking on her team; but for now, she wished to relax...

"Mrow..." came the soft cry of a content Persian. Maya smiled, reached for a blanket hanging on the wall by the closet, and draped it over the Persian as it laid down in a basket nearby Maya's desk.

"Hello, Serena..." Maya cooed to the Persian as she typed out an e-mail. "Tomorrow's going to be busy with all the trainers coming..."

Amy woke up. She rubbed her eyes. The sun was peeking over the horizon. She smiled. She got dressed, brushed her teeth, combed her hair and went to the dining room.
" Good morning mom!" Amy said.
" Good morning Amy. There's a letter for you," Amy's mom said. Amy took a envelope from her and opened it.

I wake up on a foggy morning and I hum as I get dressed. This is the big day, I say to myself. I walk out of my house walking down to the paddock where my Rapidash stood. He was a breathtaking sight; his firey mane flowed in the wind and he stood with his head up, as if he was looking into the sky. I whistled and he lowered his head and whinnied. "Hey fire," I say to the stallion, walking into the paddock. I got my tack from the side of the fence and tack him up, humming as I went. I had already paked for my trip to the stadium the night before and my other pokemon were all safe inside their pokeballs. All but Fire and Buddy, my pikachu. I look around for him; I knew he went to sleep outside, he always liked the outdoors better. I suddenly see a yellow flash, and he comes running up to me and sits on my shoulder. "hey buddy" I say as I finish tacking up my horse. "Pika!" he says in welcome. I smile and put on fire's bridle. "Ready to go?" I say, lowering the stirrups to mount. Buddy nods and holds on tightly to me as I jump on Fire. I stroke my horse as he snorts and dances impatiently underneath me. "Lets go boy!" I say to him, and he jumps the fence and gallops off. I feel the rythm of his strides and think about what was to come. I was really off to the Stadium!

Maya yawned as she awoke the next morning...today the trainers would arrive, and she could begin training them for the ultimate tournament in the Pokemon Stadium!

"Good morning, Madame..." Zelda purred as she floated into the room carrying a tray containing a small box of cereal, a glass of juice, a piece of toast, and all the necessary silverware.

"Hi, Zelda..." Maya smiled as she took the tray from her Gardevoir servant and prepared her breakfast. "May I see today's schedule?"

"Today's schedule..." and Zelda produced a long sheet of paper from the air, and studied it for a moment...until she gasped at one of the items on the list. "Oh!"

"What is it?" Maya asked.

"Why didn't you tell me Monsieur Ash was going to be here?" Zelda replied. "We must prepare his chamber right away!" With that, she raced about the room, dusting the furniture, opening up the windows, vacuuming, and other chores.

"Hey, calm down!" Maya began as she climbed out of bed and got dressed. "Ash is only going to address the trainers today, nothing more."

At this, Zelda stopped in her tracks, embarrassed by her sudden burst of activity. "Oh...forgive me, Madame...I couldn't contain my excitement!"

"It's okay..." Maya replied as she started for the door. "You can help Jenkins show the trainers to the dorms, I'm going to see my team for a moment...."

"Good morning, Maya!" one of Maya's attendants called as he readied the target range for Raye, Maya's Ninetales. "Did you hear about Ash's address?"

"Yeah...you should have seen Zelda's reaction!" Maya laughed as she stopped to cradle Lita, her Pikachu, in her arms.

"Pika pi?" Lita was confused.

"You should have seen Zelda's face when she learned that Master Ash is going to be speaking to the trainers this morning..." Maya smiled. "She was all 'Oh-My-Gosh-Ash-Is-Coming-And-We're-Not-Ready!'" Lita giggled at this.

Just then, Maya saw a shadow overhead, smiling as a Pidgeot perched on her hand. "Good morning Mina..." she cooed, feeding some Rattata meat to Mina....

"Pika pi pikachu?" Lita asked, gesturing to a Kadabra that sat in the left corner of the arena, humming to itself as it thought.

"Okay...let's ask Trista what's in store for today..." and Maya sheperded Lita over to the Kadabra's corner, and knelt down before it. "Hi Trista...what do you see in store for today?"

The Kadabra hummed again, then replied "I see promising new trainers, each one worthy to battle in the Stadium...they have come from near and far to partake of your wisdom..."

With that, Maya left the arena and trooped up the stairs to the classroom...

It didnt seem long to me before I was nearing the stadium. But then again, every time I ride it doesnt seem long before I have to stop. Buddy was still perched on my shoulder and Fire had barely broken a sweat running, even though we had been traveling for several hours nonstop. I eased up on the reins and he slowed to a trot, then a walk, and finally a stop. I reached back in my back pocket and took out my letter. "hmmm, it says here that I have to check in at the Ruby Dorm," I said. "well, I guess wed better look for it then."

Tres woke up late in the morning. knowing today was the day he readied himself then steped out side. 'ah your here we go." he let out lugia and jumped on his back. "you ready?" he said patting the pokemon on the head."yeah lets rock." lugia said back. and off they went. tres grabed the letter out of his bag as they flew. makeing shure it did'nt fly away. 'ok i have to go to the emerald dorm" he says to himself. they reached the stadium he jumped off lugia. he returned him to his ball. know i better find the dorm.

"Come on Lita..." Maya cooed to the Pikachu that ran alongside her.

"Pika pi!" Lita followed her master into the classroom and leapt atop the teacher's desk, where she proceeded to toy with an unsharpened pencil.

Maya, meanwhile, turned on the video screen, which depicted the scrolling message 'WELCOME TRAINERS!!!', and set out some supplies at each desk: The Pokemon Stadium handbook, a notebook, and a pencil.

"Pi Pikapi chu?" Lita asked, curious as to why the screen wasn't showing the image of the Pokemon Master.

"Ash's transmission is not due to come in for another hour, so be patient." Maya assured Lita as she finished organizing the classroom.

At last I found the Ruby dorm. It was not hard to miss; it was a large red building. I took off Fires tack and returned him, and carrying my saddle and bridle I entered the building and looked back down at my letter. It said to speak to the lady at the front counter to recieve the key to the dorm. I walked up to the front desk and told her who I was. "Welcome," she said, "you are to report to the classroom as soon as you are settled in." She handed me my key and I looked down the hall to find the matching room. I entered the room and I put my saddle and bridle on the floor by the door. I looked around at the nicely kept room and set my back pack down as Buddy jumped on the bed. "Happy to be here, huh?" I ask him, laughing. "Pika!!" He said, happily. "Me too," I said. I unzipped my pack and took out my pokeballs. I put them on my belt (I dont ride w/ them, theyll fall off) and called to Buddy. "Well, ready?" I say to him as he jumped on my hat. "Pika Pi!" he says and we left the room heading out to the classroom. I knock on the closed door, nervous and excited at what was to come.

I woke up and did all my nessisary things. "Emily! There's a letter for you!" My mom called. I went downstairs and opened it. I was shocked. I was invited to the Stadium. "Mom! I gotta go! Read the letter!" Then I let out Charizard and we flew there.We were there in a few minutes. I looked for the Ruby dorm. I found it pretty quick. I went up to the counter. "Hello." the attendent said. I said my name and she gave me a key. My dorm was right next to this girl who had a Pikachu. I didn't say a word because I was too shy. I went into the room and settled down. "What'd ya think,Flame(Charizard)." "Charizard!" he said. I returned him and went down to the classroom,where I was to go next.

Maya opened the classroom door, allowing a few trainers to walk inside and take a seat. She was about give them instructions until she noticed something yellowish plod towards a basket in the corner. "Oh, Serena...you want to say hi to the trainers too?"

Serena just licked a paw, curiously eyeing the visitors parading past her little corner.
