    I am extremely new to trading pokemon..in fact, I just ordered Pokemon Diamond for DS and so I don't even have it yet, I just want to clarify something.

    Since I will be getting the game and starting with practically nothing worthy of a good trade..is it possible, or common for some people to make a (fair) trade even if I would have nothing rare to offer at first? Like if I were looking for a Charmander or something and only had common Diamond pokemon to offer? I just want to know so that once I have the game and I start trading, I dont make a fool of myself only offering whimpy, common, Pokemon.

    Some people will give you those Pokemon for little to nothing, and then there is a other side who will want shinies for the littlest of things. I myself could give you a Charmander or something like that for something small like a Starly or whatever.
     
    Hey. Just follow the link in my signature to the Ultimate Trading Thread that Ichaste Pekoni has. He'll give you any freshly hatched Pokemon simply for a Bidoof. I think you can ask for up to 6 at a time.
     
    thanks to both of you! This makes me feel a whole lot better about worrying what to trade and stuff. When I get the game I will hopefully get something that carries a little more trading weight lol. I appreciate the replies. As for trading for a Charmander, I will consider it. I still need to figure out which starter pokemon I will use and then hopefully try to trade for something of a different element to help carry me through the game. Thanks again!

    yeah that is true, I just don't want to make things completely unfair in the game. I at least want to get the other 2 starters at a low level so I could still enjoy the fun of training them up myself without getting carried away with extremely high level starters in the 2nd town, ya know?

    If you trade them from Ichaste, they'll be freshly hatched, level one Pokemon. If anything, your actual starter would be at a higher level.
