I think so. You were able to do it with DPPt, so why not HGSS? I got a Shiny Golem from "A Faraway Place" aka Johto and it is in Japanese.

Yeah, it should be possible. You could always trade with Japanese people over the GTS and WiFi so I don't see why it wouldn't work between a Japanese and English HG/SS Version.
