I didn't expect a undefeated, UFC Bantamweight Champion would fall for the passion of Pokemon. But Ronda Rousey does. In a interview she said:

"I got the trading cards first. My first card was a Dragonair. Then, I got the video game on Game Boy Color, and my first one was Pokemon Blue. My first Pokemon was a Charmander, and I was immediately hooked on it. I lost a bunch of weight that summer and I was a small kid cuz I would not stop playing… like I would literally be playing it and I wouldn't stop, and I would have a stack of graham crackers next to me because I would not get up to eat."

"I've gotten every single version of every generation of the game. So, when Blue came out, I didn't just get Blue and wait for Silver. No. I got Blue, I beat Blue. I got Red, I beat Red. I got Yellow, I beat Yellow. And then when Gold and Silver and Platinum came out, I got all of those and beat those. Just the first game that I got alone, that one cartridge had 200 hours on it.

"The White, the Black, the X, the Y, the X2, the Y2, Pokemon Stadium, Pokemon Stadium 2, the only ones I didn't play were like Pokemon Pinball and all that bullsh*t. I did play Pokemon Snap, I got the perfect score in Pokemon Snap. You have to keep hitting Mew… I love Mew. Mew was my favorite. And I didn't want to hit Mew. But, y'know… for the art… sometimes you just gotta hit a Pokemon."

Just to also clarify she did mean to say B2 and W2 when she said X2 and Y2 lol

Then the picture below is a gratuitous profile of Ronda who was managing the Pokemon Stadium 2 forum when she was 16 years old (we're not sure if this is fake or not)

    Spoiler:

Quite honestly i would think she is Cynthia 2.0

Ah, so I'm guessing this interview had something to do with the recent resurgence of talk about Ronda being a Pokemon fan. A couple people on Twitter today even brought up one of her old tweets from 2012 where she confirmed that she used to be a Pokemon Stadium 2 moderator years ago, which makes me believe that image is probably true.

While looking into this a little deeper though, I found that the most interesting part is that in 2007, someone registered to PC with the username mew182. Doing a little bit more digging, I found that they were a female from somewhere in the US. While I would never jump the gun and say that it's her, it wouldn't surprise me either knowing what we know.

Either way, it's awesome that she's still a big fan of the series to this day, and she could probably kick my ass if I thought any different, haha.

Sometimes I feel like I can't be in love with her even more, and then I suddenly am.

i am a huge fan of this thread/topic

to all of our younger users, just remember, if you're ever embarrassed about playing mons, you have a serious badass in your corner

So she literally kicks ass, loves Dragon Ball, and plays Pokemon? Hmm...

    So awesome.

If I ever get famous, I'm going to thank PokéCommunity in a speech somewhere 8)

Omg it'd be uber cool if she really did sign up on PC. So awesome to see a celebrity talking about Pokemon. It's a famous franchise for all ages so nobody should feel shy about loving it~
