Uhhhh... I hope this is in the right place.

So what's up everybody? ... A little about myself... Hmm... Well I started playing pokemon when the original red version came out (at the time I was five). My NDS broke right before Black and White came out and... Tada!... that was when I discovered ROMs, the most amazing invention since Pokemon itself.
Why am I here? What led me to this site was trying to find tools to edit/hack ROMs. From what I have gathered, however, there are many people against it on this site. But I am also under the impression that those people have other ways of "editing" the games/creating their own. So I am open to all the ways that anyone does not find offensive in "creating" pokemon games on your computer. Please, if anyone has any other or a better way to "edit" the games, tell me. Oh... just for reference, I am not so much into editing the NDS games as I am the GBA games. Just seems too complicated.

Hello and welcome to PC! Yes there are people who don't like others using Rom's to play games and to make their own using it but that's their own opinion. I honestly think there is no problem if you are changing everything around, making it YOUR idea of the game, and doing it non profit. People do use other methods but i haven't followed those methods that much, you can look around the forum for other ones. I personally like Rom hacking and am currently trying to make some games. Thanks to the helpful tutorials and helpful community its going very well and iv learned so much. If you happen to need help at all with that you can message me and id be happy to help if i can. :) Also be sure to read the rules, and if you have any questions about PC, just message anyone with a bold name and they can help you out. Anyways hope you enjoy yourself, hope your games go well, and hope to see you around! :)

Hey bud, welcome to the PokeCommunity!

A lot of us here at PC actually joined for RomHacking originally, but at the same time a lot of those people get bored with it. I myself used to hack, but I got over it because it just felt like there was nothing to gain out of it. Instead I just moved over to making a game from the ground up in an engine rather than hacking a rom.
ROM Hacking can get you results faster, and is much easier. No harm in having a hobby either way.

I wish you luck in your hacking journey, and i'll be keeping and eye out for you in the hacking section!
