    Alright. Whenever I try to play some PC games (Zoo Tycoon, The Sims, ect.) on my Windows XP, I always get this message:

    https://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m280/madnesskitty/Random Crap/yousuck.jpg

    And another pop-up window that says I need to download Direct X 8.0 or higher, but the problem with this is that I have Direct X 9.0.

    So, is there anything you guys might suggest to let me play my PC games again?

    PS; Don't say the problem is a virus/spyware, because I run anti-virus/spyware programs almost every day.

    Maybe your version of Direct X is fake..?

    Or it's possible that you may need the 8.0 version spacifically..?

    What brand of Anti-Virus software are you using?

    you got windows XP service pack 2 right?

    Anyway, Lime Tictacs, I think that you don't have the correct requirements for the game. I mean, you may have the wrong graphic card... Or something like that. >>;

    Well, I was able to play my games before, just not until recently. (Two years ago. XD)

    Download a fresh version of the DLL is my suggestion.

    This backs it up and seems to have fixed the issue.

    Thanks. I'll try that.

    EDIT: Nope. Didn't work.

    Games installed, patch it. Look for grapics card drivers to.

    Whats your system specs?

    My computer did similar. However it is 4 years old, so maybe it was an age concern.

    If you know how, have backed up everything and are certain, reformat it then reinstall the drivers.

    Reformat should always be if absolutely nothing else works.
