Urgent help needed, I may have been hacked

^^^What the title says^^^
My virus scan picked up a program called keylog-ardamax, i was wondering if this is as bad as it sounds. I know what a keylog is but this was in the system folder for windows, i was wondering if i have in fact been hacked or isit part of windows?

Read that. Downloaded anything lately, its where this mighta come from. I would try to remove the keylogger.

it only records what you do and nothing else, but i recommend once you remove it to change all your passwords

A quick tip:
Either:
1) Never EVER download anything from a website you don't know about - even if it seems trustworthy.
or 2) Take the easy way out and sandbox your web browser
