My parents always say... those video games rot your mind. but do they really? i play a lot of shooters and my accuracy when i throw somethin itsnow usually right on target! and how are pokemon games educational? well there is alot of math involved, like calculatin how much damage an attack would do based on your attack and type multiplier. what games do you think are educational

Hmm.. interesting, well certainly strategy games can really help your mind, to help devolop certain ways to do things strategicly and get them done effiently. And also some sports games might help such as how to pull off plays in order to score.

It really depends on the game you're playing.

    FPSs help with reflexes.
Strategies help with seeing the big picture and planning ahead (similar to the game CHESS)
    RPGs help with reading comprehension.
    Platforms help with reflexes again.
TCG games help with...whatever TCGs help with.
    2D shooters are reflexes again.
Fighting games are memorization and reflexes.

They all have something, just not always what people see.

Exactly what he said. Somethings I may add:
TCGs help with math, reading, and strategy
RPGs also help with math (for damage calculation etc.) and strategy.
Most games also help with probelm solving, whne yo solve all of the puzzles/mazes in the game.

    Fighting games--when played on a top-end level, teach a lot of things. Coordination, planning, strategies, discussing moves and possibilities with others, being a good sport, analytical skills...more than you'd think. ^_^;

    That's what I do a lot hehe....
Well I can't exactly say this is educational, but video games actually help ones eyesight. It enables you to see things better, farther, and clearer.
    That's pretty cool!

Yeah and you know the Regis in Ru&Sa?Well, you have to learn braille in order to read the secret codes in the cave.:P I agree-some games ARE educational.
.......I never thought of that one!
Except I had the player's guide so it helped me out a bit hehe.....
That was pretty cool though. I loved deciphering the Brail! It's so......so......suspenseful!
    Hehe....

That may increase your aim, but that isn't educational. Educational games are games that help you learn things in school, like some math games that are adventure games as well to get people interested, personally I don't like them, even if they are adventure games, they are still boring.

Also, another games that is useful to teach you things IRL is driving games, not like Mario Kart or anything like that, but like Grand Turismo, the turning is realistic and also I saw that it was proven that it inreases your driving skills a couple years ago on T.V

Also, pokemon games are not educational, because it doesn't force you to do the formula in math for algebra or anything, and you can't calculate the damage very well in this game either.

i dont want video games to be educational. i dont care. i think video games should be loud ans brainless *like limp bizkit*

Serious competitive play requires strategies and, yes, damage formulas and HP. For instance, for allocating HP EVs you use one of three formulas to get maximum gain based on if you are using the Leftovers, Recover, or neither.

Hey, video games helped with my jousting skills
you know. I went from 1st to elite. (In my area)
By the way, my parents let me do anything if it has
even the slightest bit of educational use in it.
(Unless my brother starts arguing, smashing things,
    and doesn't eat properly)
