I think Team Rocket's noodles was one of those jobs they took during a League competition...
Alright, I've actually seen the whole episode now (I missed a couple parts before, but I taped it), so here's my REAL review:
First off, of course, is the title. Yes, Reyna_fire, I got the joke. It's obvious that it was on purpose. WB would just let their viewers keep thinking that Pokemon was coming back to the CW...like the heartless corporation it is. 4Kids was nicer, though, and at least gave a hint to the fact. However, normal viewers--like the little kids--still won't understand (I can only imagine how confused they must be) and probably don't get the pun until they see the truth. I enjoyed it, though, and I'm glad that I'm on this forum so that I actually could get it the first time around.
But I digress from the main episode. Like I mentioned before, the food thing seems to be matching to beginner trainers, and the noodles in particular go with May...Ash even commented a bit on that. We also get to see the Fighting Dojo finally, since they skipped over it the first run through Kanto (nobody else noticed this?? Where's Dark Charaxes when you need him...?...Nobody also seemed to notice that Ash turned his hat around again when he was cleaning the floor).
May goes psychotic for the noodles when Terry drags Kyle off...and Brock goes crazy, too, but in a different way (not noticing that a girl just broke Kyle wrist). The scene in the Dojo itself was pretty good (Now that you mention it, Reyna_fire, there IS a resemblance...huh), but Max WAS NOT IN JOHTO!! I particularly enjoyed the dialogue in this little scene, particularly Ash's line "I was wondering that myself" in response to May asking him what he was doing, lol. Also, like I mentioned before, Brock's breakdown was well-done for once, as the blow-away effect was very nice. And of course, the Hitmonchan vs Hitmonlee runthrough. This again fits with this being the Dojo that they skipped over before since, as any decent GB player should know, those are the two pokemon you choose from in the game's Dojo. Why do they like breaking old men's backs, anyway? I think this makes over 50 men in the show who this happened to...
And the training bit...a bit of irony here in that May actually blurted out that Terry had a crush on Kyle (and Brock realizes the truth!). Although it would have been more ironic had Ash noticed...but he was more busy practicing and unknowingly beating up Team Rocket. They keep coming back for more pain, which reminds me that I forgot about their noodle cart.............................wait, no I didn't; there's nothing to talk about, lol.
And finally the battle. May's experience with Combusken actually helped, but it still wasn't enough. Ash's experience gave him a clear advantage, until the battle was interrupted...by a giant noodle cart. Seriously, their robots are getting lamer and lamer (uh, how does James keep that rose in his mouth?).
Yet, Team Rocket is defeated by the third of the trio, Hitmontop. Now they just need Tyrogue...but whatever. As the usual Pikachu sendoff comes around, the episode is wrapped up with the revelation of why Kyle's so focused on noodles, what his dad's dream is (o.0), and who the Dojo goes to...plus everyone getting noodles....Actually, did anyone notice the final irony in that the noodles May got weren't really the "battle noodles" she fought for, but Kyle's dad's instead?
Well, anyway, the episode was okay, but should have been better like I mentioned before. Oh, well.
Buh-bye, 4Kids & WB.
...You thought I was going to use the line, didn't you? Well, too bad!
(PASTA LA VISTA, BABY!!)
D'oh!
