What are your thoughts on Pokemon Horizons so far?

    Searched the forum and surprisingly didn't see any threads on this, Pokemon Horizons has been out for well over a year at this point and has accumulated a decent amount of episodes; what do you think about the series so far? Has it surpassed the Ash seasons?

    Personally, I've really enjoyed it. The serialized format is a great breath of fresh air after the endless repetition of the Ash seasons and I like how much focus is given to the human characters. Everyone on the Olivine is unique and gets at least a few episodes to shine, and both protagonists have very distinct personalities without the show favoring one over the other too much. The mystery of the Explorers and why they want the pendent (as well as them actually being somewhat threatening) is also infinitely more interesting then Team Rocket blasting off again for the 10000000th time. I hope they don't blow it because I've been having a great time with the series.
     
    I've been really enjoying it. It's part of my Sunday morning routine now to watch the latest episode.
    It's been a good ride so far. It's not exactly a masterclass on writing or animation but that's not what I'm watching it for!
    I like most of the characters, both the good ones and the bad ones. Even the random npc characters are somewhat interesting.

    The last 10 or so episodes have been a bit boring because they've been filler episodes for their terrastal course which honestly I don't care about the random school arc being thrown in. I think it's a bit of a reference to the plot of the games but having not played them it means nothing to me other than filler and fan service with the gym leaders being recognised or whatever. It's still bearable though and I can't imagine it'll go on for too much longer looking at next week's trailer so that's good to get back to the plot and see where it goes!
     
    Enjoying it for sure. I was worried about how things would be with Ash gone since this is a new era, but things are going well for the most part and I really like the characters - especially the villains - this time around. Liko is super sweet too, and Dot has been another favorite. I will probably continue watching until the end! Really itching to see how this series will end. ❤️
