AfterStory: the story that takes place after you beat the E4

:D well my favorite afterstory is the sevii islands in FRLG, ahhh the training I did there. And I also liked the johto pokemon that you were able to catch in the islands too. HOUNDOUR FOR THE WIN! Then crystals after story comes in second, the reason well kanto of course!

so what is your favorite afterstory and why?

    GSC is first for me.
    Then Probably FR/LG.
I havent finished emerald so i don't know about it or plat, but i hope they are cool.
D/P are fun too, the battle areas are fun, but just meh.
R/S are my least favorite. tied with R/B/Y

Crystals after story with beating all of the gyms then battling Red.

HG/SS.Woot!Go beating Red and going to the Kanto region

    1. G/S/C. Despite a dumbed-down Kanto, it was still eight more badges and exploration.
    2. FR/LG: Sevii Islands not as good as I thought they would be, but an interesting enough excursion,
    3. D/P/Pt: Kanto was an entire region. There were seven Sevii Islands. There's only one island in D/P/Pt's after story (Pt places slightly ahead b/c of the Battleground)
    4. R/B/Y. Catch Mewtwo, 'tis all.

Disclaimer #1: I have not yet played HG/SS
Disclaimer #2: Clannad After Story is the best hands down :P

I know I absolutely hated FR/LG, it was just a no. I didn't like having to go through some stupid islands and look for 2 plates just to trade with R/S and catch a Mewtwo.

The best was probably Crystal or Platinum for me.

Probably would have to be G/S/C for being able to explore Kanto. But the Sevii Islands had a more active Rocket resistance than the revisited Kanto, so....not quite sure.

GameFreak should have expanded the Kanto storyline though, like the events that led to Koga being placed in the Elite Four as a member (should have been Blue, he was a former Champion, for crying out loud!) and how Cinnabar was destroyed by a volcano when no one in R/B/Y talked about volcanic activity in the area.

All of this, they should put that in HG/SS as like a bonus part.

Probably the G/S/C after story. I loved heading over to Kanto. The FR/LG and Emerald after story were really enjoyable too though.

I think the g/s/c after story is WAY too big to really qualify, so for me it's d/p/pt, because I spent alot more time at the battle zone, than I did at the sevii islands in fire red.

    The Sevii Islands in FR/LG.

    Then Emeralds afterstory.

Then Platinums afterstory. (The BF was worse than Emeralds, that's why Pt is here)

I've never played RBY or GSC, so I can't comment on those.

    Are you serious?

I must say I liked Platinum best.

G/S/C merely had the longest After Story, but Red is a pathetic loser and I already played through entire Kanto, I don't need that AGAIN :P

At first, I was gonna say GSC's after story, but HGSS' takes the cake now that I think about it. The story is good (well, from what I remember. I can't read Japanese, so...) and everything that was scrapped in the original got to see the light of the DS on HGSS. And let's not forget gym leader rematches. Sure, it's a pain having to find them at certain times of the day, but it's still something. Platinum is a close second. I love the trainer cafe and battle castle. Fun, fun, fun.

    Definetely GSC for me.

Well there is not much choice since RBY and RSE have no real afterstory, Mewtwo and Steven don't count.
I never played Platinum and HGSS that long, so I can't evaluate them.
Left are GSC, FRLG and DP.

Sevii Islands are not that bad, but they require catching 60 Pokemon (not hard, but incredibly annoying).

The northern Sinnoh Island in DP was probably the best trainer-wise, but the mixture of extremely different landscapes (Seriously, everything is green north of the resort area, there are tons of Grass Pokemon, and five steps later, there is a desert with a Sandstorm. WTF?) is extremely unrealistic.

Left is GSC Kanto. An extremely crippled and underleveled version of Kanto, but still an entire region. Has the best storyline out of these (in my opinion), and the 8 additional badges and the epic Red battle are a lot more fun than the alternatives discussed above.

It'll probably be HgSs when I've actually played it, but for now GSC. As everyone else said, an entire other region to explore is probably the best you're going to get for an afterstory. After that is FrLg, the Sevii Islands were a fresh new experience that nicely complemented the revamped RBY story, and I liked the easier-to-obtain Johto Pokemon. After that, DPPt, the Island wasn't all that exciting but at least you got the Pokeradar and Swarms that brought new things to the same areas you'd experienced. Finally, RSE and RBY are both tied for last for me. I didn't like RSE at all in the first place and there really wasn't a lot to do afterwards. Emerald did improve a bit but I didn't like the BF and the other stuff wasn't that spectacular either. And of course RBY all you get is the Unknown Dungeon and Mewtwo.

I know they're not main games but I did enjoy Colosseum and XD's afterstories as well, even if they were short-lived. It's too bad there's basically nothing more to do with those games after you catch all the Pokemon and transfer to a GBA game.
