What starter did you pick first in each gen?

Kanto: Squirtle
Johto: Chikorita, I think
Hoenn: Mudkip
Sinnoh: Piplup
Unova: Oshawott
Kalos: Chespin
Alola: Popplio
Galar: Scorbunny
Paldea: Sprigatito

So that means..

5 were water
3 were grass
1 was fire

Seems like I like the water starters quite a bit lol.

I ended up with (a rather surprising) 2 Fire, 3 Water, and 4 Grass... Odd considering I don't have any personal love of Grass as a typing, and Fire used to be my favorite.

FR: Bulbasaur, I like the design, and it rolls the first three gyms.
SS: Chikorita. It's cute.
R/E/AS: Mudkip. Cute, and just one of the best starters overall.
D/Pt: Piplup. Not all that jazzed about the Sinnoh starters, but I think it looks the best.
Black: Snivy, though Oshawott is close. The dark green looks good. Though, really, my de facto starter is Purrloin.
X: Fennekin. When I don;t have strong feelings about any, I usually just go with the cutest. Only Region I picked the fire starter on my main playthrough.
Don't have anything after that, was tuned out during Gen VII, & cheap used Switch Lites were a pain to find last I looked.
But from what I've seen:
S/M: Poplio. Was a happy to see a cat starter and a ghost starter, but Incineroar is a bit much, and Decidueye's type change is confusing.
Sw/Sh: Soble. Scorbunny looks cute, but Inteleon just looks cooler than Cinderace.
Sc/Vi: Sprigatito. Meowscarada's design is not only better than Incineroar's, it's better than the other Paldean starter final forms by a mile in my book.

Gen I : Charizard, because I saw him on TV.

Gen II : Meganium, because it looked odd among the options.

Gen III : Blaziken for first time, because he is my favorite starter(s) across all generation.

Gen IV : Empoleon. I like steel type Pokemon, plus it looks nice as well.

Gen V : Samurott, because of the looks only.

Gen VI : Chesnaught, because he looked defensive.

Gen VII : Decidueye, as I like Ghost type Pokemon and it is decently distributed stats.







Not played afterwards, still if I can choose hypothetically then:

Gen VIII : Rillaboom.
Gen IX : Skeledirge (as I chose it Pokemon GO Paldea event)
