What fictional futuristic thing do you want to become a reality? Like, you know, stuff like FLYING CARS??? omg??

    How...how can you beat lightsabers...

I must say an Iron Man suit would be cool. I know it's not technically futuristic but it's not exactly something that we can make now.

    time machines

As much as science fiction makes it look like time travelling is cool, it's a terrible thing to have in reality. I can honestly see all the possible outcomes if someone managed to discover the time machine...

People trying to change history is probably the most prominent one (eg. time travelling to kill Hitler before he did his damage)

Well back to topic: teleporters. Who on earth doesn't want teleporters?

You make a really good point :)

My vote is for time travel, but under certain conditions. The machine should work as a gateway between our history and another dimension's history which strictly follows our timeline. The traveler will still be prone to disease, age, and death. The butterfly effect will also be present, so there's no cheating by betting on the outcomes of sports events and predicting the lottery. The option to return to our timeline should also always be present, but with the condition that the traveler's age and health will carry over from the opposite timeline. If the traveler is 70 years old in the opposite timeline and chooses to return to our own timeline, he'll retain his age, physical health, and memory but he'll only be 20 years old by our count.

    I've thought quite a bit about this. {XD}

Teleportation for sure! That way I can go to mcdonalds at 3 am to get a big mac.

    flying jet packs lol

As opposed to those boring walking jet packs :p

I have three wishes for the future. Good food you don't get fat from, really awesome VR, and really comfortable chairs. Although I'm afraid I might become a real hermit if that happens.

    I think we all will.

Calorie free delicious food would be a godsend.

I have no desire for flying cars, but my god they cannot get self-driving cars on the road fast enough. I don't want to learn to drive. I don't want OTHER PEOPLE driving. People are terrible drivers. Let everyone switch over to the much safer, much more efficient self-driving kind and life will be better for everyone. I know it's not really fictional anymore, since they're actually testing these in quite a few place, but it was definitely a fictional or futuristic thing while I was growing up so it still feels like it to me even though I walked right by one a few days ago, lmao.

Not exactly futuristic, but magic wands like in Harry Potter.

I AM STILL WAITING FOR MY LETTER TO HOGWARTS. mAYBE it got lost in the Owl post. Maybe my owl got eaten by a cat before it could deliver me my admission letter. :(

Yeah, Harry Potter-magic would be amazing. I'd also be down with non-lethal lightsabers. ;D

Besides that: teleporters to go anywhere quickly, virtual reality stuff like Sword Art Online (minus the real death stuff), cloning. :P
