Anime/Manga What was the last anime you watched or manga you read?

Just finished watching Pokémon Ultimate Journeys and To Be A Pokémon Master after that. I really enjoyed them both, and it was major to see the end of the original Pokémon series.
Spoiler: Cryptic Spoiler For How It Ends

I've already seen the first two episodes of Pokémon Horizons for free on Youtube, which also looks major too. I look forward to it coming out on DVD, or even to watch for free on the Pokémon website like Journeys and Master Journeys did temporarily. Gotta catch 'em all!

it's actually the first day in a while I've had some time to watch anime, I'm still keeping up with Kinnikuman Perfect Origin and watched another couple eps of Terra Formars and getting close to finishing the first season of that!
I'm gonna give the second season/batch of eps of Rising Impact a shot, despite being kind of meh on the first season, I thought it was just okay...but guess I feel it was good enough to want to keep going and give the second half a try! Definitely helps that it's on netflix with the ease of access, otherwise I probably never would've gotten to a lot of the netflix stuff as I defo don't like a lot of it enough to go out of my way for.

Still over 100 eps behind on Black Clover lol, but binged a bunch since it's finally on netflix, could see myself finishing it much sooner this way.
Hopefully British netflix gets One Piece and Fairy Tail soon as I need the netflix pace to get up to date on those lol.

I just started One Piece and Hetalia Axis Powers. I enjoyed the live-action of One Piece, Zoro is still my favorite character, and I found a random Hetalia meme and got back into it, finally watching the anime

I finished Yakyuu de Sensou suru Isekai de Choukoukoukyuu Ace ga Jakushou Kokka o Sukuu Youdesu in a few days.

What manga is that? In 3 words:

Isekai Baseball War.

God R.I.P. Aniwave/the OG 9anime

I'm still watching Black Clover, I also finished the second season of Rising Impact and the started the second season of T.P. Bon.

After hearing of the passing of the English VA of Misty/Jessy I also found myself looking through her roles and watching some of the more obscure dubs she was involved in of some 90s OVAs Twin Signal & Shamanic Princess...both were really good imo!

[PokeCommunity.com] What was the last anime you watched or manga you read?

Last night, my bf and I finished the first season of Spy x Family. It's something we started a little while ago and finally got to finishing it recently, and while I have a lot of pleasant thoughts on it, a good summary would be that I didn't really expect it to be the type of show it was before I started watching it, and I realized that it's the kind of show I'd been wanting ever since season one of Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid was airing once I had finished it. It made me feel a certain way a show hasn't really made me feel in years and it's the exact kind of thing I've had a desire to watch recently. I'm so glad other people enjoy it and have been talking about it because it's one of those anime that taught me the things I enjoy/want to see in an anime and show that even though I have those different tastes, they're still valid and are things people still have a desire for. 🤍

I finished Ouran, I can tell it's good and there were parts of it I enjoyed, but I don't think it meshes the best with my tastes. Maybe just a 6/10 for me, but that's more just about my personal enjoyment, I can understand why a lot of people would rate it higher. Probably never would've gotten around to it if it hadn't been on netflix, so I'm really hoping they add more anime I've had my eye on for a while, since the convenience of it being there usually means I'll get to it way sooner.

Still watching Black Clover, Kinnikuman (also both on netlfix) and then also Loser Ranger. Lastly also been watching and nearly finished another 90s OVA (that I've been really enjoying, defo a hidden gem) Mahoutsukai Tai! (Magic Users Club). I found it through Shamanic Princess actually as they have a random crossover short I'm gonna watch after, and Mahoutsukai Tai also has a TV version that I will eventually get to after since I've enjoyed it so much!

There's other stuff ofc that I'm still technically "currently watching" and juggling, but just thought I'd only mention the stuff I've actually watched in the immediate past like the last couple days.

Finally was able to get caught up and read the latest volume of Kaiju No 8. I haven't started the anime yet but was hoping to check that out soon and see how they have handled it!

I've heard it was one of the most popular shows of last season! I don't know the first thing about it personally, but hopefully that means it was treated well when it was adapted!

As for me, my bf and I finished Frieren last night! I liked it a lot more than I expected, and it's one of those shows that I hope really becomes a pillar for other shows like it and people who want to make shows like that, for Frieren's popularity to be evidence that people want things like this in the future. It got me invested and I'm really excited for the fact that it doesn't seem like it's over yet and there will be more in the future. While I unfortunately don't expect to see more of Kanne in any future seasons, I'm very hopeful, I love her.
Yesterday I realized I'm really in the mood for another good girly shoujo romance manga, so despite the fact it seems to currently be on hiatus, I wanted to pick up Yamada-kun to Lv999 no Koi wo Suru and ended up going through 16 chapters just this morning. It'll give me a little bit of a distraction while waiting for the next Akumade Amai chapter...

Uzumaki english dub was on Max (streaming app) so I watched it that way since for whatever reason they aren't airing that version on Toonami (wtf? this literally makes no sense whatsoever). You know... at this point... what has become abundantly clear to me... is that I just don't like Ito's works. I just don't. I just don't 'get it'. It doesn't matter how many or how much someone tries to 'explain it' to me. I don't get it and clearly I'm never going to get it. This shit isn't scary. I'm sorry it's just not. It's just... weird as hell.

oh well at least i have a contender for my personal anime disappointment of the year now. i guess. i literally didn't have one at all this year thus far.

I finished Kinnikuman Perfect Origin, watched a bit more Black Clover and even went back to watch a couple Boruto eps (dunno if I will ever finish this series, falling off of watching it so many times, but the 25th Naruto anniversary made we wanna watch a handful of eps at least).
Besides that I watched some older stuff like the Kujakuou OVAs and Darkside Blues.

have you given one of his manga a shot? Because the only thing I'd note is it might be a bit premature to say that if you're basing it only on the Ito anime, since his work is notorious for not always translating well through mediums. I enjoy a lot of the Ito anime personally, but I'd say to truly judge his work you have to of tried the manga I think (if you haven't I mean). If you have then fair enough.

I can't seem to get myself to read manga anymore. I always have to force myself to do it and I hate forcing myself to do anything.

fair enough, maybe consider it if you ever find yourself on a manga kick again in the future. Or at least flick through if you see any of them at a store or something.
