everyone is talking about them and i don't know what they are. what are they?

IVs are values set to every stat between 0-31. The higher the number, the better.

For example, you can have a pokemon with:

    HP - 20
    Att - 31
    Def - 19
    SpAtt - 3
    SpDef - 29
    Speed - 7

Now... this would be okay, for a slow physical sweeper... it has low speed, alright defense, good spdef, and perfect attack. Combine this with the right nature (adamant - +att, -spatt), and EV train in attack, and you could do quite a bit of damage

OK, you just blew my brain apart... Anyone got a less confusing explanation?

just take your time to get it. print it out to read it more relaxed.. its somehow fun to fully EV-train your pokemon.

    anyway, also you need:
some rare candies (to check IVs on new pokemon without saving afterwards)
slugma (to make eggs hatch faster)
everstone (to increase the chance for a certain nature)
dittos with popular natures (always good)
PKRS infected pokémon (to double the EVs your pokemon get)

    yay, i love breeding
