Whats gonna happen to May and Max?

    Does anybody know what May and Max are going to do after Ash wins the Hoenn League (Hopefully!!!)? I hope May leaves; I like Misty better!
     
    i dont mind, but its gonna cause big fights between alot of people, i guess may will stay if there are contests and max will tag along and misty will probably join the gang again
     
    I don't mind May or Max as long as Misty comes back!
     
    You know, I've been thinking about this a lot lately.

    It is unlikely that all five will travel together because in the two Hoenn Misty episodes, it did appear that they had a hard time giving everyone a significant role in the plot. As much as I like Max, I think after Hoenn he should not travel with Ash, May, and Brock, and have Misty take his place. He can start his own Pokemon journey, and he can have Housous and make appearances on the show. He can even have a couple friends travelling with him. ^_^

    It'll probably end up being something I don't like though. -_- But you never know. ^_^
     
    Yeah? I've noticed a history of the Pok?mon writers making unpopular decisions?
     
    Ash might grow up and have Misty and May fighting over him. That would be funny to watch. Think Tenchi...

    I hope May and Max both go, And misty comes back and its only Ash, Brock & Misty, they were better episodes!
     
    If Max was limited to housou specials, we'd never get them in the US. I personally don't care, they all have different character personalities that are unique. The only person who's character I couldn't decipher was Trac(e)y. He just seemed more shoved into the background than anything.

    Definetly. I didn't even notice him when I watched the show
     
    OH NO,I don't want May OR Max to go.They are really nice characters.If you're gonna bring back Misty,they can let May and Max stay.>_>;
     
    Max and May are both pretty cool, but I liked it w/ Misty Brock and Ash. Has anyone noticed, but Ash seems to act differently towards May and Max... almost like he doesn't want them there.
     
    He doesn't act differently. With May and Max, he's just the veteran and they're the new generation of Trainers, which is possibly the reason that the Hoenn Saga is called Advance Generation in Japan.

    It could be Ash getting older, or possibly he might be leaving and May and Max could be the new generation. Think about it. Max is getting his Pokemon License after the Hoenn League, so maybe they're going to make him and May the main characters.

    I've seen them do this in tons of Animes, and it is quite possible that they will do it in Pokemon. Or they might split it. Have two versions of the series, just like how the games always come out in twos, and have certain episodes where they meet. Of course, this is ALL just speculation.
     
    That seems quite likely actually. :\ I sometimes wondered what effect it owuld have on teh show if the focus was on someone else. Because you know teh anime always follows the games, and it seems too repetitve for Ash to redo teh Kanto league, althoguh he vowed after Indigo Plateau he'd come back and try again. It seems likely to me that the show will focus on May and Max after Hoenn, and they'll go to participate in the Kanto League. max would then be the starting trainer, and May would be the experienced Tag along. It actually seems plaausible .They see how great a trainer Ash is and decide to participate in the league of Ash's home region. And it would be a new star trainer, starting in teh first region, so it would seem almost symbolic.
     
    What do I think? I think Masato and Haruka will continue to travel with Satoshi-taichi. The Japanese audience loves the two characters, and getting rid of either of them would be suicide.

    Yes, yes, I know, "other countries like Kasumi better!" Well I like Kasumi as well, but I honestly don't see her coming back. Haruka is a much better character IMO, and her fanbase is very large in both Japan and other countries.

    Besides, Kasumi really doesn't have a role on the show anymore. In fact, her only purpose was to add that 'girl-ish' touch that pokemon needed and carry Togepi. But now that the egg has spread its wings and Haruka has stepped in, she's simply not needed.

    Perhaps if the creators would have focused a little more on her, and a little less on her Togepi, she would have advanced to Houen with Satoshi. But they didn't. They let her character go stale, and they payed dearly with ratings and money. Seriously, do you think they're going to make that mistake again? Ya right. ^^; That's why they started out fresh with Haruka.
