4th Gen What's the highest level a pokemon can reach?

My pokemons are in lv.70s. It gets harder and harder to level them.
I was thinking what's the maximum level pokemons can reach? Or is it unlimited?

Lvl 100. It is hard to level up a pokemon after 60. I have a file of 999 hrs on my game from training most of the time.

sigh...if only nintendo lifts that darn lvl. 100 limit, its feel kinda stereotypical to me.

The level 100 limit is good.

If you are a real good player, you are not concerned about leveling. Real good players think about EV's or balance in their team, and moves, items and make sure that they have good natures and IV's.

Just leveling up some random pokemon with random Ivs random EVs random natures random moves and giving them random items will not give you a strong team. And that is how it should be.

If you are a real good player, you are not concerned about leveling. Real good players think about EV's or balance in their team, and moves, items and make sure that they have good natures and IV's.

Are you saying that those who don't want to take the time to train like that aren't good players? If you werent saying it, you sure implied it.

Anyway, the highest level is one hundred, and I'm prefectly fine with that. It's hard enough to get to level one hundred as it is, so we don't need to go any higher. Although, it is pretty stereotypical.

A cap is used for several reasons:
*You have somewhere realistic to aim for. People who play in-game only won't pay attention to EVs ect and 100 is realistically achievable. Imagine how hard it would be even reaching 150.
*It keeps the gaps between pokes realistic.
*It would be pointless. Please tell me what havong a level 280,000 pokemon could achieve over a level 100? Wifi battles are set levels and in-game is beatable with pokemon at lower levels than the E4 (Believe me, I've done it)

No, what he's saying is that it's pretty stupid giving yourself more work when you can be happy with just EV training. I know it takes me a while to EV, i dont wanna have to spend extra time levelling

Lv 100 houndreds the heighest lv and Yeah it kinda is stero typical but its also nice to have a set Lv or else any pokemon can have all its stats maxed out and how much fun would it be battling if all stats were equil and maxed out what would u do after that atleast now we can ev for cirtain stats to be maxed out and its gives us atleast a challenge battling and training

Uhm, the WoW level cap is being raised to 80 with the new expansion "Wrath of the Lich King". Runescape also has a level limit which is 138 at most.Besides, I find leveling up my Lv93 Swampert fairly easy as it can literally destroy everything.

That level caps are all over the place. that was my point. I know that they're 2 completely different things. RS and WoW aren't related to Pokemon but I never said they were. All I was saying was that the Level cap is everywhere. As for the GS Level limit being 255, just hack all your pokemon to level 255 if your so desperate. I don't use it as I use a handheld. Much easier and more challenging (training becomes easier but battling becomes more challenging).

taking away the levels would be sort of hectic. A lv. 234 Crobat would pwn a Lv. 99 Swampert too easily, and leveling up would take forever.
