Alright- I'll be totally honest here. I haven't actually played a pokemon card game in... um...

    7 years.

That's right, 7 YEARS. What's changed the most since then? Back then you relied heavily on having enough energy in your deck to keep your charizard and venusaur going while you fought with the little guys XD

I was there before the tournaments started O_O yes, that's right.

So... what do you think the most dramatic add has been to the game since then? Good or bad?

The fact that most of the older cards aren't legal for use in official tournaments. You can still play people with them, it just has to be in the "Unlimited" format. Other than that, check the official site for the rules, because I'm not sure what is entirely different. A deck still has to have 60 cards.

Dude. They changed poison types to freaking PSYCHIC. WTF!?!!!?!one!!eleven!!!onoz!??

Not cool, Nintendo. NOT. COOL. I was actually considering getting back into the game, but then they went and made a stupid choice like that.

I don't see how that actually affects anything.

Anyway, the biggest change was probably Supporters. They made the game a bit less broken, after the older cards were phased out. The second biggest were probably EXes- however, since they're being rotated out, they have little effect on the current metagame. And Level X's are still too early in their development to really impact the game.

Um, how about the fact they are now weakened by their own type, share absolutely nothing in common with the psychic concept except color, and that now Normal types resist them for no reason? Oh yeah, and now Dark types resist them too. And they can affect Metal now as well, which in the games is actually IMMUNE.

It makes absolutely no sense. Having them as Grass made a BIT of sense, but in a perfect world Poison would have its own type since it doesn't really fit well with anything else.

Look on the bright side- they're a great Gardellade counter. :D

Type advantages and disadvantages aren't as big of a deal anymore- it's only an extra 20 or 30 damage, rather than double damage. Maybe I just never run in to type advantages when battling (I run Hurricane :D), but I still don't see it as much of a big deal.
