Who like Shin Chan?

Oh, me. Anime was coming off the television channels about the time I started to watch said screen box though so I never saw much.
I always liked how A: the dub is good, and B: the art style is like something from the 50s.
 
Oh, yes. One of the few shows I miss without television; it was very funny.
 
What a legend! Who doesn't love Shin Chan? He always makes me laugh.

The line I'll always remember is:

"Yo Gogglepuss, d'ya cut your hair with a weedwacker?!"

I just saw the episode where Shin's mom races that American woman to an egg sale.
 
Bought one of the DVD sets the other day, as a matter of fact.

It's actually a pretty hilarious little show, despite the fact the dub is almost completely alien to the original Japanese script. But hey, it's not like the Japanese version would have been half as funny to an English speaking audience, am I right?

Still, Shin Chan is just excellent at dishing out some quick humor.
 
OMFG I ABSOLUTELY ADORE HIM

I watched the Chinese dub of it, and it sounded great as well.
And the translation is quite close actually. XD

Dang, now I have something to do over the winter break.

How much do they censor in the foreign releases? Does anyone know?
 
90% of my Korean elementary schools do. They have it here in Korea, but it's heavily edited and aimed at young children. But they call it a different name. As for me, no. I don't watch it.
 
I do love the original series subbed, but my Lord, the adult swim dub had me rolling. XD. It's like an official abridged series or something. XD

It isn't really censored in America, but a lot of the jokes are localized. (pretty well I might add)
 
I really want to watch it, but I can't find it anywhere. ): I've seen little clips of the dub on YT though, and it's pretty hilarious.
 
Watched it when I was a kid back at Japan. :D
 
I thought it was a really stupid anime, but I just had to keep watching it just to see how much worse it could get. XD

I have to admit, however, that I did LOL a few times at it.
 
The brilliance of the American dub is its pioneering of the comical (bordering on insane) overuse of the "that's what she said" moment.

Examples,

"My favorites are the ones that squirt cream."

"You know: choking a chicken in the hand is safer than tossing your rocks off in a bush."

"Nothing's supposed to come in your butt."

"Dad, What's ejac-si-late mean? Is that some kind of lady face cream?"

It's really a thing of beauty.

The parody characters are funny, too (aka Yanro).
