I bought Ruby today (preowned) and on the current file it had a Jirachi!!!

So I traded it to Colosseum and restarted the game =P

Heh, I did the same thing with a copy of Blue, bought it second hand and found - a Mew!!

My friend bought a used Yellow and a used Silver and discovered that they both contained many rare pokemon at level 100, Including Mew and Celebi!

Sounds like you guys got lucky. You should see if there is a way to check and find out if they wer caught by a ahck or by a legit method. If it was a hack, then it's alright. It was a legit method, then don't ever let go of it, because that is the rarest mew and celebi I ever seen! :D

My friend was so lucky! He bought Gold and Silver at the same time(both used) and Silver had every legendary Pokemon possible to catch in RBY and GSC at early levels,including Mew and Celibi! He started a new game on his Gold version and then traded all the rare Pokemon from Silver to Gold before starting Silver over. The previous owner either went to the best Nintendo event for Gold and Silver players ever or used a cheating device, most likely option 2.

most likely. A cheating device is how I had gotten a mew and celebi. ijust didn't unserstand that goldleaf/ Silver leaf thing that was supposed to get him for you. i had both leaves, but nothing happened.
