Hello all. My names Valient (Please don't call me val). I'm a long time pokemon fan, full time geek and stay at home dad.I've been interested in pokemon, and coding, for years.
Now i do have some experience with Java/python/html and even android apps, but i didn't even consider modding roms until...i think three days ago. Truth is, i dont know much about it but i am a quick study, and i just plain love pokemon. and coding. or any hobby in general. (i knit. dont tell my wife).
Mostly, im here to share my crazy idea's. Maybe meet some other people new to modding/hacking roms. Nothing illegal of course, but certainly fun.

Welcome to the forums! You should check out the Emulation section, since you seem interested in hacking. I have my own hack, in fact, but it is still in early development. Btw, I'm Cosmotone, but you can call me Wes or Cosmo. Hopefully I'll see you around!

Well i've been using VBA for a couple years. I just didn't consider digging into the roms i downloaded (dont worry, i've spent hundreds on pokemon merchandise as a kid so it's legal. I have the cartridges around here somewhere...) Then i saw a youtube link and viola! Here i am. I've already downloaded all the suggested tools and made a few custom maps for ruby. (I'm a very quick study). Now i'm delving into scripting. woohoo for complex math and the whatnot. Especially the whatnot.

WOW a dad . well welcome sir i am also interested in coding and programming, as a matter of fact im doing software design and development in year 12 for my HSC. it is quite hard especially producing pseudocodes and algorithms. anyways welcome feel free to call me diablo.
