4th Gen Why do the Johto battle themes play in some parts of Kanto?

I've never noticed why that is. I know they play on Victory Road, Route 26, 27, 28, Tohjo Falls, etc.

Because on the map, their on the Johto side now. Now, I can't read Japanese, but I'm not sure if the man says 'You've taken your first step into Kanto' when you arrive at Tohjo Falls.

So I'm just going to assume it isn't exactly in Kanto anymore.

The man says that as soon as you hit land after surfing east from New Bark Town, right near the Tohjo Falls enterance.

Kanto or not, the game still treats it as Johto (as you can't actually get to any cities, etc in Kanto until you beat the Elite Four, which involves going on those routes). With the exception of Victory Road all of the routes/areas are new from RBY (or FR/LG). Also it was exactly the same in GSC as well - just how they did it, is all.

That's what Game Freak people decided at any rate. I don't see any real discussion coming from this... so going to close.
