Why don't we have ANY GBC hacks!? It should be easy to hack and other features, such as character customization should be really easy!

It's not true that there aren't any GBC hacks (Brown, Prism, XY Naturia) but most people feel like some of the later-gen mechanics (physical/special split, for instance) are essential features and Gen I and II make that a lot harder to implement than Gen III. (There's not enough move slots, for instance. Gen III has a limit of 511, but that's enough unless your goals are particularly lofty. Gen II has a limit of 255.)

Well, we do have a few GBC hacks. It's just the engine of the GBC games are not as "easy to hack" as the other games, like firered or emerald. Also, why are people so obsessed with character customization, I really don't see how this is easily possible. This seems more difficult on the GBC, seeing as the palettes are reduced to a smaller amount of colors compared to the GBA.

It's possible to extend move and pokémon limits in GB/C games. It requires effort, but it's possible. Also, implementing the physical/special split is pretty easy in Gen I and II, as well.

The biggest reason is probably that Gen III is popular, everybody else hacks Gen III, and Gen III has better graphics. A lot of people seem to care about graphics a lot.

Well, there are plenty of hacks available, just not on this site.
This link has some GBC hacks for you to try. Also a simple search will bring up some nice hacks. But make sure you have a pop up blocker ready XD
