whenever you're on the internet and you're searching the same thing as you have before, a dropdown list of history appears, is there anyway to stop it from appearing/clear the history? ive already tried deleting all temporary internet files, cookies and history but it doesn't work...

Yes, go to Tools > Internet Options and somewhere in there you should see an autocomplete thing, turn it off...

Well in Firefox the exact location is Tools>>Options>>Privacy>>Saved Form Info>>Turn off box.

And in IE : Tools - >Internet Settings -> Content ->AutoComplete(button) -> *uncheck all* and also click the "clear forms" and "Clear Passwords" buttons.

What they said. Sorry I couldn't tell you exactly, I'm using a Mac at uni so I don't have that access... I hate Macs...
