Windows Media Player 11 Problem

With it a lot of my videos and stuff don't play. It gives me a message telling me that I don't have the certain codec to play it. It seems to be happening to a lot of .avi files.

Does anyone know the suitable codecs for solving this?

If you get a program called GSpot, it can tell you what codecs are needed for each file.

Just don't assume all the results in Google will get you to the same file.
