I guess it will be one of the time that I'll talking about something serious in one of my blogs here.
Yesterday I want to access a certain fanfiction site when having a break from video editing (I was busy making one at time of writing), also because I was thinking of searching for some possible crossover fanfics to enjoy it, and suddenly I find that the site can't be accessed in my end, but weirdly the site apparently is up in the other side of the net (yep, I even checked 'is the site down' checker), and it dawned at me that the site is having the same fate as imgur, being blocked in my country.
I guess I was quite late about knowing about the fanfic site's block (not as late as imgur several months ago), but even so, the block does not went unnoticed for me. In fact, I was having discussion with one of my friends, when I told her that I can't see PC Battle Server's welcome message properly several days ago, and she showed me how the welcome message looks like if it was not imgur-blocked, and it's so good, I wish I can see it like every day if not for the block. Also, I used to often use imgur services that I even used some of my images into my siggy at some point. Plus, some of the sites that I visit are using them, too.
Well, I know that my country wants to cut out NSFW (Not Safe From Work) content from the internet, and I do respect their wishes, but still, with due respect, I personally find that removing access to some sites that I enjoy the most might be a bad idea, and I just want my imgur and a certain fanfic site's access back.
I hope that my country will be better someday and remove the ban sooner.
