World Wrestling Entertainment, or WWE for short is something I recently fell back in love with. As a kid I was obsessed with it and started watching again around the Royal Rumble at the turn of the year and have been hooked ever again ever since! Just thought I'd make a thread for anyone who wants to talk wrestling on here. I apologise in advance if there's another WWE thread but I can't seem to find one anywhere, lol. Just a general thread to talk about whatever comes to mind about the industry, Battleground is tonight so why not make it now!

    Here are a few questions to maybe get you started;
    • Who are your favourite current superstars?
    • What are your favourite memories as a kid?
    • Do you own any of the DVD's of the old PPV's?

Who are your favourite current superstars?Dean Ambrose, the undertaker
What are your favourite memories as a kid?I remember the undertaker throwing Mankind off the cell in 1998 at king of the ring
Do you own any of the DVD's of the old PPV's? nope i wish i did though.

Who are your favorite current superstars? The Undertaker, Seth Rollins, Neville, Cesaro (I'm only saying the one's who are still wrestling.)
What are your favorite memories as a kid? Watching the Rock and Hulk Hogan match at Wrestlemania X8
Do you own any of the DVD's of the old PPV's? Just some of the stuff from 2003-2007 or 2008. I stopped getting the PPV DVDs becuase of the WWE Network.

Any one hyped for Lesnar vs Undertaker at Summerslam?

YES I LOVE SETH ROLLINS! Cesaro and Neville are both amazing too, and nobody can undercut how amazing the Phenom has been throughout his tenure.

Any one hyped for Lesnar vs Undertaker at Summerslam?
My hype for Summerslam is dimming more and more at the thought of Cena beating Rollins, but I think the main event will be magic. I expect 'Taker to roll back the years, the only question is who comes out on top?

Who are your favourite current superstars?
    The Undertaker & Neville

What are your favourite memories as a kid?
Seeing the Undertaker headlining Smackdown :P

Do you own any of the DVD's of the old PPV's?
I own Wrestlemania 24, The Rock's biography, Armageddon 2007, Backlash 2009 (I might be forgetting some)

Any one hyped for Lesnar vs Undertaker at Summerslam?
Oh god yes. Undertaker is my all-time favorite wrestler. When I saw his defeat at Wrestlemania, I was speechless. I wanna see him absolutely destroy Lesnar and bury Heyman. But WWE as been very unpredictable with 'Taker lately so I really don't know the outcome of this fight, which is why I'm excited for it.

I'm wondering how long this feud will last, and if it will lead to Undertaker's retirement or something else fans would likely be more interested in viewing. As for the match itself, I'm assuming Lesnar to come out as victor (that is, if they're planning to make a bigger program out of this), but am definitely excited in watching!

I have this strange feeling that this may end up being Takers last feud that will lead up to Survivor Series, to make it a full 25 year career, but who knows.

I think Taker is going to retire at Mania next year which is being held in his hometown. Even though Sting took a bit of a hit at Mania (thanks HHH, ya prick!) I'm still interested in a match up between him and the deadman. Sure it would have been ideal if this match happened years ago but unfortunately Sting chose to resign with TNA back then and play a cringe-worthy version of the joker. I love Sting but that was just awful lol. Anyway a retirement match between these two needs to happen. I don't wanna see either of them wrestle too many more times. In fact I fear for Taker's health in his upcoming match with Brock. The guy is a brute in the ring and Taker is banged up enough as it is.

Taker looks a lot more healthier than he did when he lost against Brock Lesner (Bray Wyatt match). And as much as I would love a Taker/Sting match. Another loss for either of them would be bad for them =/

My concern isn't just based off his appearance or recent matches. Taker has been battling physical ailments and injuries since the late 90's. He has bad knees and limited mobility in one of his shoulders. When you factor in his age and Brock Lesnar's stiff style of working it's only natural to be concerned for Taker's well being. Lesnar gave him a concussion the last time they wrestled. I'm sure he'll be more cautious this time around but I still think Taker's going to get beat up pretty badly in this match.

As for whether a loss would be bad for Taker or Sting. Considering they're both towards the end of their careers I really don't think it would affect either one of them much at all. There's no shame in losing to Sting or The Undertaker and since Taker's streak is over anyway it really doesn't matter who would win in their match.

I didn't like seeing Taker's streak end but it really helped cement Brock as the top guy after his momentum was stunted due to losing to both Cena and HHH. If they had booked Brock as an undefeated monster from the moment he returned in 2012 then there wouldn't have been a need for Lesnar to end the streak. He could have lost to Taker and he still would have been considered a top guy. Unfortunately he needed a gigantic win like the one he had over Taker or else his credibility as champion would have suffered as a result.

Sting's loss to HHH on the other hand served no point whatsoever other than to stroke the egos of HHH and the WWE brass. HHH didn't need the win. You could argue that Sting didn't either but the whole thing just came off as another excuse to make WCW talent seem inferior. HHH did the same thing to Jericho, Booker T and Scott Steiner when they had a ton of momentum going for themselves. If Sting won this year then a match between himself and Taker at the next mania would have seemed even more special than if it were to happen now. Not to say it still wouldn't be special but Vince and HHH's egos continuously get in the way of optimizing their talent and storyline potential.

I think Sting and 'Taker still might happen yet, but that's probably just more out of blind optimism on my part. I think that JR has come out with a good scenario regarding the 'Taker and Brock feud where Lesnar goes over clean tonight and then in Taker's retirement match he proves he has what it takes and knocks off Lesnar at 'Mania 32. That'd be cool I think but I don't see it panning out that way. Also I like the concept of a masked Kane coming back to help 'Taker win and then reforming the Brothers of Destruction. They could go on to take on "Team Lesnar" at Survivor Series or maybe the Authority will be taken out for the second year at their hands. Could end up in a 'Taker v Kane match at 'Mania, which could also end up being a double retirement match, a fitting end to both future HOF's careers. I doubt any will happen, I just enjoy talking about pro wrestling.

ALSO: Anyone hope someone finally goes over clean on Cena? Rollins deserves it and to be frank desperately needs it tonight, one clean title defence in 6 months makes him look incredibly weak... I can't see it happening though because Cena has brought so much prestige to the US title and there's a blossoming division beneath him, it wouldn't make sense to merge the belts, unless of course we have Cesaro, Owens, Rusev etc. moving into World title contention (which I'd be all for).

The main event was amazing! Shenanigans and all. Heel Taker has a bit more of an edge to him. Great effort from both men. I'm hoping/predicting that they'll have their third and final bout at Survivor Series with Lesnar going over this time. Then, finally, have Sting appear in the same ring as the deadman to setup their retirement match at Mania.

I'm very dissapointed that Reigns didn't turn on Ambrose. He's never going to be consistently cheered as a face. He's just not good on the mic and he's shoved down our throats much like Cena.

I'm glad that the New Day won their titles back. They have to be the most entertaining faction in the WWE right now, perhaps in recent history. The only bad match of the card ended up being the divas tag elimination match. But that bound to be a mess with so many participants involved at once. This revolution would be so much better if it were divided into more single matches. Also it's astounding to me that Natalya hasn't joined in on this program yet. She's arguably the best female wrestler on the roster. I'd only put Sasha Banks ahead of her based on her NXT work.

I actually didn't really like the 'Taker Vs. lesnar match.... wait scratch that. What I mean is that the match itself was pretty good, What I didn't like was the ending to it. Undertaker submitting, bellkeeper rings instead of referee calling it over, Undertaker wins by a cheapshot and lowblow? Not the best ending the a 4 hours Summerslam, imo.

And I agree with you. Natalya gotta be put back into the ring instead of just being 'there'. She have great wrestling abilities and WWE is just making her a jobber.

They really pushed the point home that Taker was willing to do anything to beat Lesnar. Even by being a dick and hitting the dick of others lol. But yeah I understand people wanting a clean finish. If Taker wasn't acting like a heel throughout this feud I might have had a problem with it too.

Just a suggestion here but do you guys think it would be a good idea to startup a pro wrestling fanclub on this site? There used to be one that was pretty active in 2013/2014 but I think it died out eventually. I might startup a new one if there's enough interest. More than happy if someone else were to startup the club themselves but allow me to suggest naming it "The Kliq". ; )

I'm definitely for that idea of starting up a Wrestling fan club. I'd be in it for sure and a couple of PC'ers too would join in.

And now I can't wait for Monday Night Raw due to these controversial win, lmao (Cena/ Rollins & Undertaker/Lesnar)

Hot dayum I'd be game (heh) for a pro wrestling fan club on here.

What an epic weekend, though. I can't wait for Raw tonight either, I hope it'll be jammed pack with good stuff. I got so concerned about the Phenom last night though, thinking that Lesnar might actually maim 'Taker this time. Supposedly he was caught collapsing and crawling briefly to the Gorilla Position too? I hope that the old man is okay.

Cena losing to Rollins howeverrrr! Awesome bout, despite one or two key missteps (heh, Austin's Twitter reaction to Cena's botched springboard stunner </3) Is this a heel-turn for Cena? I'm content that Flair's 16 world title reigns hasn't been matched by Cena yet. Sure, it's a stay of execution yet, but dammit, it's good to me.

I feel kinda bad that when the Divas match came on, I used it to take a small break, something that columnists later remarked in articles posted today with the in-house crowd, I discovered. Banks in the match with Bayley the night before was simply leagues better.

Some big angle is said to be taking place at RAW tonight, according to WrestleZone. I wonder what that could be? Though, they've been wrong plenty of times before, so I wouldn't be surprised if they're telling us this merely to gain readers.

I'm half tempted to hang around and see how social media reacts. I can't wait Raw itself until next Sunday, which is when it airs here albeit in an abridged, 1 hour format. Decisions, decisions. If only WWE actually updated the network with the latest Raw episodes on a regular basis.
