In the flurry of all of the pokemon games that we have been blessed with, where do you think Pearl and Diamond stand? I sent my mom to gamestop with forty dollars and asked her to buy me a copy of one or the other (I work all day). Will the game be worth it?

After selling 1 million copies in 5 days, I can only say that you'll have a good time with it.

...You're kidding, right? Just take a look at all the attention this area of the forums is getting. There's good reason why the games are selling so well: THEY ARE MORE THAN WORTH IT.

XD If you're already a fan of the games, which I'm assuming you would be, then by all means, get it. If you have Wi-Fi capabilities and are planning to utilize it in conjunction with your Pokémon Diamond/Pearl, then definitely get it. The Wi-Fi gaming options alone would be what is bringing a lot of past fans back into the games.

Its a good game... is it worth buying? depends on you and what you like, to me its pretty good...

If you're a Pokemon fan, buy it. A Pokemon fan wondering i they should buy Diamond or Pearl is like someone who has a console wondering if they should buy a controller. It's just the kind of thing you don't question. :P

In my honest opinion, if you don't have a wireless connection, you will be quite disappointed with the game because the story mode, as per usual, is incredibly sub par.

But this game excels online. With wireless battling and trading, the handheld Pokémon franchise has been given a new lease of life, and it's amazing to be able to have battles that are challenging and you actually can be defeated by your opponent, as opposed to ingame where you'll rarely to never be defeated by trainers.

Hmm, but that wouldn't necessarily mean it's worth it. That could be just the result of high anticipation.

I don't blame nostalgia for this one, but I personally didn't like the game as much as I expected I would. Many of my comrades that have also played it can merely say it's 'okay'.

If you're a fan, like people have already said, It wouldn't hurt getting it. It's got a lot of new additions and even more pokemon (albeit even more overstylized and not so creative) also it contains features many people always wanted to see such as the physical/special attack definition of each move instead of being based on the type in general. As for the graphics, those are quite cool, and the plot is clichéd as always... Overall, I wouldn't qualify it as the best Pokemon game, but not as a complete let down either. It's actually very fun and addictive.

But hey, just wanted to expose this point. Early sales and/or hype don't always assure quality. Sometimes they turn out to be mere prejudices.

I've never played or owned a Pokemon game before this one. Well that's not entirely true as I bought a used Fire Red two days before this game came out just so that I knew what it was like.

Since day one when this game came out, I haven't stopped playing it. I beat it pretty quickly, but couldn't stop after that. I had to get all 493 and I finally have. Anyway, with the game itself, then filling the national dex and messing around on the GTS, I've put in 302 hours and a few extra minutes. I've NEVER done that with any game! I haven't even touched my 360 or the other 5 brand new games I got for my DS. I totally passed on the Halo3 beta which, up until this game, I had really been looking forward to playing. I turned into a PokeManiac and even went so far as to purchase a DS and a copy of Pearl for my brother.

Oh, and I'm probably much older than you too and just about everyone on here. This game rocks and has been a blast to play. I can't wait for the next installment!
