What are your tools for writing? Are you the traditional type of person who uses pencil/pen and paper? Do you use just your computer? What about a tablet for writing? Discuss~ :3

I use a tablet or an iPad to be specific. It's easier for me because if I'm not at my laptop or out doing things with my parents, I always have my story right there. I get inspired a lot by things around me as well, so it's good to have something I can use to incorporate ideas and not forget them as soon as I get home. I used to just use my laptop or a notebook prior to getting an iPad. The thing is that writing on paper caused me a lot of pain and pressure on my wrist. So, I was glad to have gotten an iPad instead. XD I also use a stylus as well because I don't make as my typos with a stylus as I do with my actual index finger. I do have an iPad keyboard, but I don't really use it much. The reason is because I HAD this stand for my iPad that came with my survivor case, but it broke. :(

I'm curious to know what you guys use for your own writing methods. XD

I think this was brought up before, but the thread died.

I used to write only at my desktop computer, but these days, I went back to writing with a pen and paper. It's much easier for me to write that way, since I can just take a notebook and pen with me outside and write without distractions. Going back to my old ways was the only way I could get out of a horrific writer's block that lasted a few months.

So now, wherever I am, as long as I have a piece of paper and a pen with me, I can do some writing. It feels great.

I use a tablet, my laptop and when I'm at school, I use a pen and paper when I have an idea

I used to write on pen and paper. It lets creativity flow better, when you move your hand and shape the words for real.

But nowadays I mostly use my laptop. I always buy laptops with good keyboards, it's the most important feature for me. And the keyboard of my gaming laptop... it's heaven.

I used to write a lot in a notebook, but then I switched over to computer as edits then to get messy for me on paper. When it comes to organizing my ideas and saving links for references, I either use Google Docs or Microsoft OneNote online.

Tablets are horrific to type on, it takes basically the whole screen to see the keyboard.

Eh... I don't have a problem with it. I've gotten used to the idea. *shrug* I prefer my iPad over anything because as I said... I'm very forgetful. I also like writing wherever I can, but if I use pen/pencil or paper, my hand will cramp up really badly. To each their own, I guess...

I write my ideas down on paper with whatever writing tool - pen, pencil, marker, highlighter that isn't yellow... - is closest to me, and I keep that by me while I write. I do the actual writing on WordPad on my laptop though, or if it's something I'm going to publish on FF.net, I'll put it on MS Word. I don't really do any extensive writing by hand anymore since I'd have to transfer it over from paper to computer. If I ever do write something by hand, it's usually poetry or something short that's easy to do.

I've gone through phases of using computers, pen/paper, and even typewriters.

I started writing on the old bulky 90's computer my mom had when I discovered the Microsoft Word program on it when I was about 9 or 10 years old, I wrote a lot of Neopets fan fiction lmao. I sometimes wrote on an old typewriter when I started getting really into the swing of things, and then I started using pen/paper a lot in early high school when I would get ideas and such throughout the day at school.

Nowadays, I don't write much but when I do get that strike of creativity, I write my drafts on my computer, but I use notebooks and pens for plotting and developing, because I enjoy the messiness of the process.
