How many best friends have you had in your life? What were their names? How many years were they your best friend for? What caused them to stop being your best friend?

Hhhhmmmm....since I moved a lot, I got a fair amount of friends. When I was little, I talked ALOT, but now, I'm more of the quite and lonely type. Anyway, the names are: Tom, Ben, Owen, Yuki, Henrique, JV, Nicolas, Chris, Keika (GF), Seong Hwan, Nicole, Sevastian, Bart, and a lot more guys, but I don't remember their names (when I was 7 about). All of them stopped being my friend because I had to move (I hate moving...) except for Bart...

1996-1997: Nicholas - he was my first best friend; we met in Kindergarten. He stopped being my best friend in second grade after my mother made sure we were put in separate classes because she felt he was becoming to dependent on me.

1996-2004: Nathan - we also met in Kindergarten and for some reason I considered him my best friend until 8th grade. Though it was more of a title thing; I had a lot of best friends during that time that I considered above him, but he was the constant, I guess. Whenever somebody asked me who my best friend was the knee-jerk response was "Nathan".

1997: Tyson - we met in first grade and for that year only we were pretty much inseparable. We went to each other's houses all the time and we enrolled in this kiddie gym thing together that we went to once a week, which was a ton of fun. I actually don't remember why we stopped being best friends. I guess we just weren't put in the same class the following year and grew apart.

1998-2006: Andrew K - He was my first real best friend. We met in second grade and were just sort of in the same friendship group. It wasn't until half way through the year that we ended up being what I consider best friends. We went to each other's houses on the weekends and had sleepovers where we played video games and did awesome stuff. I loved going to his house because there was just this quiet energy about it (he was an only child) and I felt like it was a nice little escape from my crazy household. While we were friends I was known as "Andrew" and he was known as "Andy" to tell us apart. I don't know why I let him take Andy since that is awesome and I prefer it now haha. It was my fault we stopped being best friends, and I still really regret it. I changed friend groups at school in tenth grade because I found a group of people that I generally had more in common with and I allowed us to grow apart. We still talk on Facebook sometimes, but he's moved away to university in Queensland now. The last time I saw him in person was January 25, 2009 at his 18th birthday party. I miss him :(

1998-2005: Will - He was always my other best friend, and I probably had more fun with him than anybody else. I consider him my best friend at the same time as the above because it was a totally different paradigm; Will never went to my school and he was two years older than me (yet I was always taller :P). We met when he moved into the house two doors down from me in 1998. He came over to my house nearly every day for the first four years of our friendship and I considered it a waste of a day if he couldn't come over. We got our first Pokemon games at the same time, we got our Nintendo 64s on the same Christmas Day, he was literally the best thing that ever happened to me. But he was a neighbourhood friend, which means my mother was the reason we stopped talking. In 2005 they brought a foster child into their home and my mother thought they were mistreating her. So Mum intervened and started a feud between us and them. Will and I never stopped liking each other (and we still talk on Facebook now every so often) but it was effectively the end of the friendship as I knew it. In 2007, they moved. I miss him, too :(

2003-2004: Matt - he moved to Australia from South Africa in seventh grade and we immediately became amazing friends. We started a car washing business together where we made a ton of money and we did all our homework together and hung out. I went places with his family and had sleepovers at his house, it was really good. Then we sort of grew apart in 2004 when I became friends with...

2004: Dianna - I'd known her on the periphery since 1997 when we were in the same first grade class, but I never thought of her as a friend and we were never close. Then we sat next to each other in roll call in Year 8 and I discovered she was hilarious. She made me laugh more than I ever have before and I immediately fell in love with her (not that way lol). She had cerebral palsy (noticeable, but not bad enough that she had to be in a wheelchair) so I guess she had to develop searing wit to survive the people that would have made fun of her all her life. Our friendship broke down in 2005 when my other friend Paul came into our little group of two. It was great for a while, but two's company and three's a crowd and the two of them formed a friendship stronger than my friendship with either of them. Then they decided they were sick of me and it caused a huge fight which destroyed my self-esteem. She apologised in 2006 and we made up, but we never became friends in that capacity again.

2005; 2007-present: Lauren - we met in ninth grade through Paul. She was the only person other than Dianna who had made me laugh so much and we became friends quickly. I got too cocky and accidentally insulted her which caused her to side with Paul and Dianna in the aforementioned fight. That broke our friendship, but I moved permanently into her friendship group at the very end of 2006 (tenth grade) when the issue resolved and we pretty much picked up right where we left off. I'd totally forgotten about that until now; it seems so long ago. We're still best friends to this day and she is one of just two people I've remained in constant contact with since graduation. I saw her just yesterday, in fact!

It's interesting, I didn't realise how many of these best friends overlapped until I had to sit down and work it all out haha.

EDIT: It took so long to write that post I got ninja'd by a full 15 minutes XD

I spent elementary school in the US, and my best friend was Lauren; I was constantly teased because most people thought she was my girlfriend.

In middle/high school, however, my best friend is Tim; he lives in the same neighborhood as I do.

I had a new best friend in almost every grade of school. The longest best friend, local anyway, that I had was my friend since I moved to a new city in 2007 till a little past our graduation in 2010. They were conniving, and chased after whoever I was dating and I didn't want a friend like that. My real best friend is Klippy. We started talking right when I was modded here and things just clicked. So from 2009 to now, yeah. Das mah bes fran. I love him to bits and he's great. We can talk about anything and everything. I'm sure half the forum knows that though, given I say that in almost every thread about best friends, haha.

Never had many best friends as I moved too often back then so I won't address elementary and middle school.

My best friends from high school though and still good friends today would have to be my clan brother/rival James aka Stepith Bloodia as he calls himself as we've known and treated each other like brothers for 4 years now and my wingman John who I've known for about 3 years now.

James is more serious minded than most but he means well when it comes to his actions, that and we've always had this ying and yang duality going on as well.

John is someone I used to look down on like with everyone else back then but I was teamed up with him during the sports back in PE class and he proved not only to be a tough as hell opponent to beat in the sports we played such as tennis but he was also very knowledgeable on games such as Yugioh which he got me back into when I got him into Pokemon soon before, we started hanging out often after school after a while and long story short we're pretty much insufferable even if what we mostly do is crack heads open in Gears Of War nowadays lol.

Pat. Basically my brother known him from 1994 and was best friends with him then, 18 years later still am who woulda thought. Just before he was trying to get me out of work to go surfing, what a great mate.

Phrederic. God I dont know about 7 years ago I meet him on runescape. (Online friends ftw!) We finally met a few years ago and been visiting each other every now and then since then. (He lives 4 hours away >.>) Oh and we are moving in together next year. Definitely my closest/best friend.

Travis. MY BROTHER FROM ANOTHER MOTHER! This guys a champ, we always go out together or party when hes back from uni and while he was living here nothing was different. Such a funny guy and fun to be with. He is my wingman and I am his. (Im about 100000x better at being a wingman then him though, sometimes I think he just doesnt wingman for me at all.)

Brittany. Umm when we were introduced to each other I said "Oh so youre the w----." Great way to start a friendship I know. But since then we have been really good friends and just got along really well and been bestfriends since 2010 when I moved to her group at school. Shes a champ. >.<

Robo. known him for years, common interests, we get along great, hes just a geat friend.

bout all I can be bother mentioning theres been a few more but not really that great of friends with them anymore sooo.

I don't think I've ever had a best friend. For the most part, I tend to make friendship groups, as opposed to individual friends, so I tend not to get massively attached to individual friends. In secondary school, especially, I would actually move between different friendship groups very fluidly, meaning I could never really establish the proper connections inherent in a 'BFF'-style relationship.

Indeed, the only friend who comes close to this lives about 3,500 miles away. My room-mate in the last year of uni, we were just shoved together at random but it turns out we have a surprising amount in common. He's the one person that actually knows I still go here, and I've told a number of 'secrets' to him that I haven't to anyone else (and, I think, vice versa). I don't know if I'd actually call him a 'best friend' because the distance means that we now don't see each other... well, at all! But if I had to choose one, he'd be it.

I have had many and still friends with most of them.
Not going to name names really, don't see the point as such, but they are very dear to me.

One of them is Morkula on this site though! :D

i've only had 3. one of them, Simone, i never see or talk to, but i still have her on fb. i met her when i was 6. :') the other two Michael and Lauren, i still talk to, though last month i fell out with Lauren and we've made up but still aren't talking... and what makes it worse is that Lauren is my real best friend of two years.. Michael i met at college in September. he's actually going out with Lauren lol.. so they always ditch me for eachother and ignore anything i say.. anyway i've had two or three fallouts with Lauren, all over guys too which is kinda lame considering i hate guys now and hate how they always seem to come between me and Lauren.. but yeah thats it. o:

I've known most of my current best friends since I was nine years old. We were in the same classes during elementary and high school. We're going into our third year of university in September, all at completely different schools nonetheless, and we still keep in constant touch and see each other when we can. They're the funniest people I know, and I can tell them anything. I also have a group of good friends that I've known since either elementary or high school (new people joined the group in high school). All of them are awesome, sexy, amazing, wonderful, hilarious people.

In first grade, my best friend was Rebecca. We sat at the same group at some point, that's where we met. We did most things at school together, but for some reason we never visited each other's houses...then again, I don't like doing that much.. Anyway, next year we were in different classes, but we still talked when we could. I moved in second grade, so we weren't really friends after that -__- I remember the last day I saw her, I was like "REBECCAAAAAA" and we hugged and I spilled my backpack everywhere. So I didn't see her anymore, and I wondered if the people from first grade still remembered me or not, because I remembered a lot of them. Then, just a year or two ago, Rebecca added me on Facebook 0_0 It's not the same as when we were little kids obviously, but it was still nice to know she still thought of me.

In second grade, I had a friend named Elise (I think that was her name.. o_o). I met her on the first day of that grade and gave her my Squirtle pencil lol. There was another girl named Shelby whose house I visited, a guy named Austin that I always talked about Pokemon with, and a girl named Moranda who nearly threw up on me. I didn't really have a real best friend in those times, though, besides Rebecca, who I only saw every so often. Second grade was when I moved back to Tennessee.

In TN, I had to be homeschooled for a bit as I finished second grade due to some crap or other. I didn't really have other friends, but to be honest I didn't really care, didn't bother me. My aunt told me she often babysat this girl about my age, and she wanted me to meet her. Her name was Angel. We met, clicked, and played together as often as we could. We'd spend the night at my grandmother's, or sometimes she'd come to my house and stay for the weekend, or, in summer, a couple weeks. In ninth grade, she even lived with me for a year. We've been best friends for more than 10 years now, and I love her so much ;__; Unfortunately, a lot of my family - the part that was basically responsible for raising her - has abandoned her due to something ridiculous. Good thing my parents don't hate her.

In fourth grade, I met two girls named Courtney and Hayley, who were always together. I joined them, and we spent a lot of time together at school, like doing group projects or on the playground or whatever. By fifth grade, Courtney and Hayley apparently weren't friends anymore, so I still played with Hayley, but Courtney seemed like she didn't want to be friends with me either, so we just grew apart. Hayley and I hung out for a while, but eventually we just grew apart, too. Dunno why, really.

In sixth grade, I met Alex. We met because I was wearing my Charizard shirt and he came up to me and was like, "Why are you wearing a Pokemon shirt?" I replied, "Because I can." Been together ever since XD Turns out he was a Pokemon fan, too. It was cool for both of us to meet someone else who actually played Pokemon for real and knew a lot about it. He's taught me a lot of lessons about it over the years :P We've been to each other's houses a whole lot, been places together and stuff. Since the time I met him, people have been assuming we were bf/gf, but nope, never. We've been buds for 7 years now :3

In ninth grade, I met Taco, Kelly, and Amanda. I met Taco and Kelly in the required "wellness" gym class. I think I started talking to her because she looked depressed o_0 But yeah, Kelly tagged along, too, and we were always together for gym and lunch. We sort of grew apart starting in 10th grade, when we didn't see each other as often. In band, I met Amanda, because Angel and I had to find a group to practice with one day, and Amanda and another girl named Kiera were the other two people without a full group. Next year, after Angel went back to her old school, I started hanging out with Amanda at lunch and during band. We've had some pretty hilarious times. Still friends, it's been about four years. We don't talk very often now, but sometimes we make plans to see each other :3 Our views clash in a lot of ways, but we try not to let that get in the way of our friendship.

In tenth grade, I met my boyfriend, who is also one of my best friends, online. He knew my sister first, and my sister insisted that I add him and talk to him. We shared a lot of the same interests in stuff like Tales games, Pokemon, anime, etc. so we clicked immediately. We're similar in a lot of ways, but our personalities will sometimes clash. But we've had lots of fun, it's been three years :3

In twelfth grade, I met Justin in French class. We met because we were having an oral quiz and, since we sat next to each other, we were asking each other how to say some of the words before it was our turn. Neither of us knew XD The next days, we watched a movie in that class, and Justin sent me notecards asking questions about me. And that's how that happened :P We ended up having a lot of classes together that year. Still friends, been about a year. Just recently, my dad let him borrow a bike to get around with XD

And my sister Bean is my best friend. We're a little over four years apart.

I don't think I've ever had a mutual best friendship with anyone tbh.

I met my best friend, Lewis, in Kindergarten at elementary school. We were best friends until 8th grade, when we both went to separate high schools. We're still great friends and we get together and hang out every once in a while.

Only have 2, and they're both from the internet, met them at the same website known as YouTube and known them since year 2008.

Diana Justiz (Blaze): Strong minded, smart, amazing, mature, good thinker, good helper, fun to talk to and have fun, like my sister, we're the "Sunnys", we have so many things related to each other and more.

Brittney Farmacka (GP/GengarPrincess): Fun, good thinker, mature, nice helper, huggable, sometimes can get really annoying but it doesn't matter.

    They're awesome. Period. BFF.

I had two best friends since my childhood called Gabby and Viv. I always considered Gabby to be my best friend up until Year 6 which the following year I moved schools. I honestly thought that it was because we just drifted apart from each other but my mum started telling me how I used to come home crying because she and another one of my friends used to start teasing me from the start of Year 6 (that as well as problems between our families which I had not known about till 2 years after).

Viv and I are still good friends, though we both go to different schools now and she has other best friends besides me, she's still one of the best friends I've had since before she was born xD (Cause I've known her from birth and I'm a year older).

As a kid I had a best friend whose name I can't remember because I moved away a few years after I met her, and she kind of alienated me after a while because I became friends with a black girl and her family was racist.

After that I was best friends with a girl named Kelly for a really long time, we hung out with each other all the time and our parents were great friends, went to amusement parks together and stuff. Then we moved to Texas so we fell out with them, lol.

Then in fifth grade I had a best friend named Cassie who I would hang out with every single day. Over the summer we would go between our two houses and then when it got late we would just sleep in whichever one we ended up in. We would get on our scooters and ride around, swim, stuff like that. But then I moved and we stopped being friends because it's hard to stay friends when you move as a kid haha.

Then I had Taylor for a year, she was my neighbor and a few years younger than me but we hung out all the time. That was another short-lived friendship as that was when I moved back to New Jersey.

In seventh grade I met Ashley, Angie, and Kat. Ashley I had a huge falling out with a year later and never really talked to again, and Angie and I just kind of drifted. :( But Kat and I are still best friends even though we go to school across the country and barely see each other. I plan to visit her next week when I'm home with my bf so she can meet him!
