Your Name

What do you normally name yourself in Pokémon games? Do you stick to one name, or do you use several names? Let's hear it.

 

[Laguna]

My name is pretty much always Laguna. It used to be Strider but then I changed my nickname to what you see right now.

I have found that when I play the Pokemon games, it is becoming quite common for me to name the character I am playing as either Mando or Mandolore.

I always name my in-game trainer Nichole, which happens to be my real name. I did however accidentally name my trainer "Terra" when I did my original Ruby playthrough however.

Sometimes I use the default names, otherwise I use my real name.

I almost always go by my real name, Karen. Sometimes in second playthroughs (or if I'm playing as the boy character) I'll just use the character's name though.

I use my real name 100% of the time. I can't think of a situation where I'd do otherwise.

In X and Y, it was the first time I've used my real name in a poekmon game, because for the first time I had spaces to put my complete name! Before I just go by Marie, the first half of my name. The, in ORAS, I put Mawa because I now have this online nickname :)

 

[Caite-chan]

In older games I used my real name which is Caitlin but now I've used a different version aka Caite-chan. :D

Back in the old days (eight years ago) I named myself whatever name first popped into my head.

Now I just name myself Alex every time because there isn't enough space to write Alexander.

I always use my real name, but before gen 6 I've always had to use short versions of my name (Cat, Cathy, Katie, etc.) In Pokemon Y and Omega Ruby I named myself Catherine, and in Alpha Sapphire, which I just started playing not too long ago, I named myself Sopheria :)

I'm uncreative and usually name myself after the protagonist in the anime/manga - in my first SoulSilver file I was Kotone, and then in my second I was Lyra, etc. Although in my X file I was Xelha and recently I've taken to using Zeria for my OT. In short, it basically depends on what I feel like at any given moment, there is no grand plan or significance behind my name...although I've only used my real name twice.

I use just one name in my games, and it's my actual name.

I might have considered using a different name for the heck of it once or twice, but I don't feel like sitting there while I decide what other name to use, so. I'll stick with just the one name.

So all my protaganists are "Jess".
All of them.

When I first started playing, I would name myself what the name of the protagonist was. (Red, Brendan etc.)

But like several others here, I only use my real name nowadays. For story-heavy ROM hacks though, I still use the default name provided with the character (if there is one). Otherwise, I come up with a name on the spot and stick with it.

I usually use my real name but sometimes I use Ketsu or Ketsueki if I'm replaying it a second or third time. There are times where I've replayed as the girl character and those times I would name myself the default names of Characters (May, Dawn, Hilda, Rosa, Serena) :P
