Yay new update! Just downloaded it but still pretty new to roms. Im doing it on delta app on ios and im not sure how to load my previous save from 1.09. Would you be able to explain how to have that in the 1.10 version since it created a new game file not just updating my previous. I just made it to lilycove and don't want to have to start over, especially since im this close to my precious mega stone.
I'm not sure how saves work on Delta, but I would imagine there is some type of save file that is created in a folder that you could copy and rename to be compatible. As I've stated previously to another user, the save is compatible with the newer update, but certain things that were supposed to be triggered may not have been done early on in the game. I'm more than happy to take your save and alter it, though! If you find your save, feel free to zip the file and send it to me here or through DM. :)
I had to switch out Gigalith, whom I caught in Rusturf Tunnel as a Roggenrola, because the Champion was a Water type specialist. My core team consisted of my starter, Gardevoir, and Corviknight. I had to rotate the other three members. Dugtrio (Alolan form) was one of my early game core team members. I didn't have to switch out Pokémon a lot, just rotating between the other three until I got Heracross for the fifth Gym and Wobbuffet for the sixth Gym.
So the core was already formed pre-Petalburg? That's awesome; I think Gigalith and Dugtrio might've had a hard time in the Wallace fight, admittedly, but maybe we'll see them one day haha. What was the hardest fight for you? And what was maybe the most enjoyable side quest?

BrandonXL, I've been meaning for weeks to come on here and tell you how much I'm enjoying Horizons! My main question is where can I find other held items like black glasses, miracle seed, sharp beak, etc?

Does anyone know where I can find the electrizer to evolve electebuzz?
Hi, for basically all of the trade evos, you only need the Linking Cord! This can be bought at Slateport City. You can reference the evolution document on the drive to see how to evolve all of the mons!

Ah, that is so lovely to hear, thank you for the kind words! So, because of your message, I went ahead and added another Slateport vendor who sells type-boosting items for all of the types. It didn't dawn upon me until your comment that those items weren't readily accessible or easy to find for players, so thanks for your feedback! Keep me posted on your journey :)

I've rolled out v1.11b today, which, along with the vendor, features some minor bug fixes. This is fully compatible with v1.11. Also, the Pager can now be used after the sixth badge to fly to any destination! Special shoutout to blackuser for helping me with implementing the item.

    I've done it!!!

Honestly, I think the hardest fight in the game for me was the triple magma grunt fight at the rocket. That Aerodactyl hit HARD.

My core team was actually together pretty early, but I wanted an all-new HoF team :P. Corviknight stalls, Alakazam's raw power, Incineroar intimidate loops, and Breloom spore saw me through most of the game.

Out of curiosity, how much of the stock Emerald postgame is there? I saw some posts in this thread talking about the Frontier, but I didn't get the SS Anne ticket.

E: Wait... oh no!!! I got beaten to the Porygon Z punch :(

Considering the way you made this, I think that evolving tyrogue with different items is ideal to help solve the issue of not getting hitmonchan or hitmonlee. Levelling up with the Boxing Glove hold item for example yields Hitmonchan, levelling up with a black belt/expert belt leads to Hitmontop, and wearing heavy duty boots leads to Hitmonlee.

Everyone has different "hardest" fights, which I find interesting, but yeah that little gauntlet can be pretty rough without the right setup.
In terms of vanilla Emerald postgame, the extent to which you can experience right now is just Groudon and Kyogre. The additional postgame stuff are the quests that have been unlocked as well as Lugia and Ho-Oh, which I think you'll stumble upon naturally if you're doing the side content. The Battle Frontier was a milestone for like....four patches ago that I never got around to doing because of new stuff I wanted to keep adding lol. But, 4 of the last 5 quests are expected to be Frontier related, so the good news that'll come in the future. Eventually.

Also, the Porygon-Z thing is pretty recent, but five new entries will forever be yours! Congrats on your clear and tysm for playing!

In the mainline games, it was determined by the higher stat. Such a thing doesn't exist in this, but I think using the natures (which another user previously suggested a long time ago) emulates the thought behind that quite well. It's not a bad suggestion, but Boxing Glove doesn't exist, and Heavy Duty Boots and Expert Belt are one-time quest rewards, which further complicates things.
@BrandonXL in the postgame there's dialogue about appliances, but I can't get Rotom to change formes.
Oh, I didn't even know there was dialogue about that lol. Rotom currently just uses stones to evolve (so this is like more of a one-time thing); I don't have a proper form change implemented yet, but I figure I could do that in the future.

I believe I found a bug in the game corner. I think theres supposed to be a quest involving the coin case but the team rocket grunts dont budge if I interact with them.

Hi, I just tested this on a clean save and I can't reproduce the issue. Basically, the way this particular interaction works is that as soon as you enter the map, you will always be locked into a scripted sequence until you defeat the Rockets. Did you try using any cheats, did you use the patch on an Emerald Trashman file, or did you apply an update patch to an Emerald Horizons file as opposed to an Emerald Trashman? These are usually some things that may cause the game to behave incorrectly.

hey BrandonXL, I have a sav file here from v1.09, which I then saved after I patched my ROM to v1.11. Could you help me to alter it? Thank you! :) Really enjoy the game thus far! Difficulty level is just right for me, and I love the fact that there is no need for EVs or IVs, which makes it more fun to try out different teams for different battles. Looking forward to the next few patches!

No I never use cheats given how they tend to mess up rom hacks, and I patched a clean trashman file when I first began my game. I hadnt updated the game since I got it.

I've updated your save; just to clarify, you applied v1.11 to a clean Trashman, right? Anyway, I've gone ahead and set the corresponding stuff that needs to be set, so NPCs that are supposed to be hidden will be hidden accordingly. The only thing I couldn't do is have one of the new quests display as active because that happens as you progress through the game. FYI, you can do Quest 44; it's directly to the left of Fortree City if you choose to do so. Thanks for playing once again and let me know if you have any questions or anything I can help you with :)

It seems you've done everything right on your end; can I ask what emulator you're using? Not all emulators are the same in terms of accuracy, so the one you're using may not be the best in terms of compatibility.

Enjoying the game quite a bit, and struggling a lot as well xD, my team was terrible and was suffering a lot in many of the fights, been alternating Mons now and things are going better. 5 badges as of now.

I found a problem in New Mauville with Zapdos. After you enter his room, you cannot leave New Mauville. Green door is closed and no way out. Here is a pic:

Thankfully my Excadrill can use Dig and get me out, otherwise I'd be softlocked I think, as I don't have Escape Ropes...

THANK YOU SO MUCH this was a huge flaw; I'm actually surprised others didn't run into the same issue (or they did and escaped somehow haha). Anyway, I've released patch 1.11c, which adds a button on this side of the gate so players don't get trapped. Thank you so much for making me aware of this; when I was testing Zapdos, I was warping in and out of maps, so I never had the chance to experience it for myself.

mGBA is the most recommended emulator, so you're doing that right as well. I honestly can't think of what's happening in your case. You ran into Looker, right? Do you want to try and share your save file (in a zip file, if you choose to do so) and see if I can fix it?

Looker, that may be the issue. I thankfully didnt save after getting the coin case so I'll try to look for Looker before I comment further.
