I'm sure there's probably been a topic like this before, but since I didn't see one (and I'm bored. What can you do?) I'll post a new one.
Basically, what movies have you seen so far this year, and what did you think of them?
Movies I've seen so far -
The Dark Knight - Heh, along with millions and millions of other, I'm not the first to say that this is the best movie of the year. The box office numbers (which were somewhere close to eclipsing the Titanic of all movies) speak for itself, and the movie was just amazing in every way. Christian Bale and Heath Ledger did great in their respective roles, and what's a movie without the Morgan Freeman, right? xD
Ironman - Another great action comic book summer movie. RDJ is a great actor, and his humor fits perfect with his charecter. I thought the ending was good as well, since it sets it up perfectly for a sequel, and yeah, I like sequels. I can't wait until this comes out on DVD, since this'll be a great one for the collection.
The Incredible Hulk - This one was a lot better than the 2003 adaption to it. Still wasn't as overly increadable as most comic book movies, but I still enjoyed it.
Kung-Fu Panda - I'm a man who likes his animated movies, so this one fits perfectly for me. =P Nice to see Jack Black rebound from some of his past few movies, and he was the whole selling point of this one.
The X-Files: I Want to Believe - As a fan of the show, I just had to go see it. It wasn't as good as I had expected (and I wished they had gone more off into the shows alien mythology rather than it's own stand-alone story), but I still liked it. It was cool to see Mulder and Scully back together, and hey, they even brought Skinner along for the ride. I'm honestly surprised they didn't bring CSM back, but since he's dead, I guess they couldn't. =P
The Love Guru - Ehhhhhhhhhh. It had it's moments, and especially considering the whole plot involved around making fun of the Toronto Maple Leafs 40+ year failures was something I liked, but it wasn't really that good.
Wall-E - As a fan of some of the past Pixar greats (Monsters Inc., Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Cars, Ratatouille, etc.), I just had to go see this one, and it didn't disappoint. It wasn't quite as funny as some of the other past movies, but I still liked it a lot. Plus, like every Pixar movie, it has John Ratzenberger from Cheers, whose one of my favorite actors (so there may be some bias, but who cares. I like it).
Well, that's about it. The 2008 movie season will be winding down soon, so hopefully some more good ones are on the way. The one I'm looking forward to most is the new James Bond movie, Quantum of Solace, which is supposed to be ready by November.
