Hi there! I've been working with gimp for almost a year now, and I'd love to help. Here's a tutorial (http://kitsukitty.deviantart.com/art/Basic-Gimp-Tutorial-130340783) I made about the basics, though it's old, so I suggest you use paths for the lineart.

And here's some more stuff I make on gimp: http://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?t=190626

G'luck, just call me for help!

Is there anything particuarly you'd like to know? Filters are always a big help for image work. Overlaying layers are good too. Sharpening, gaussian blurring. There's so much you can do to improve Gimp work.

This goes in Graphics & Photography, and even then, it goes in the Lounge. ;<
You can re-ask your question there. <3
