This tutorial is specifically tailored for the recent Hidden Legends style, the current style used in the US cards, and specifically the Zeo blanks edited by me. Other blanks may be different sizes and will need different fonts. However, it should be suitable for older styles of ADV I made if you fix up certain things, but Hidden Legends look a LOT better than anything previous (IMO). This tutorial also is specifically for Photoshop users, but some elements can be implied with other programs.
I am not saying that this is the ONLY and ABSOLUTE way to go about your cards, but it's very accurate and much of it is based around research I made into the advancey world.
First, you need the blanks, symbols and fonts! This should be obvious :P
Symbols and blanks are both available from the bottom of this post.
If you are on Photoshop, open the character and paragraph toolbars (go to the Window menu and select Show Character and Show Paragraph if you don?t know how to). These allow you to condense text and justify when necessary. Also, the layers toolbar helps in a big way. If you aren?t on Photoshop, ignore this step. Now, let?s go!
Top parts
We?ll start with the name. I use Gill Sans Condensed Bold, size 25 at 100% width. Place it 1 pixel to the right of the left edge of the silver image border, and five pixels above it. Simple. If you?re doing a Magma vs. Aqua or a VS (gym leader) style thing, I use size 12.5, unconfirmed but accurate nonetheless. If you?re on a program that doesn?t allow decimals, just use 13). The forenames should be in this size and completely capitalized (eg. TEAM AQUA?S Spheal). Go back to size 25 for the normal name of course ;)
http://img52.exs.cx/img52/6228/fig1.jpg
HP next. This is Futura LT Medium Bold, size 19, still at 100% width. Have it 5 pixels to the left of the edge of the type symbol, and 5 pixels above the silver image border. Couldn?t be easier ^_^
http://img52.exs.cx/img52/3777/fig2.jpg
Illus is Futura LT Medium Italic at size 7, 100% width. 5 pixels left of the INNER left edge of the image border. Have it just about vertically central with the bar, just until it looks correct. Make sure that the illus gives credit to the actual artist ;)
http://img52.exs.cx/img52/8615/fig3.jpg
Attack area
Great. I hate this bit.
Powers/bodies first.
Please note there are some CHANGES
For basics, have the power/body symbol on the first row of full circles, vertically central with the rows above and below (the one above is half circles). The left edge of the symbol should be central between the first and second circles on the row. The power/body name goes 20 pixels to the right of the symbol, and it is Gill Sans Condensed Bold, size 19.2 (that precise, yes, but 19 will suffice) at 89% width (use the character toolbar to set width on Photoshop, otherwise skip the condensing unless you have another way). Use the appropriate shade of red or green.
http://img52.exs.cx/img52/6449/fig4.jpg
Please note that in newer sets, they have reduced the distance between Power/Body name on Basics from 20 pixels to 10 PIXELS. Adjust to this if you want to follow the very newest trends. Thanks to Lunanai for pointing this out, and see Page 3 of this thread.
For evolutions, do everything the same, except that the left edge of the power/body symbol is instead central between the second and third circles and the name is 10 pixels to the right of the symbol.
http://img52.exs.cx/img52/2326/fig5.jpg
If the card has an ex/dual type/shining rule or other, leave a row of circles but leave everything else the same as for a basic.
Now, for the effect of this power (this also applies to attack effects). This is where things get complicated. Draw a text box with the text tool (drag instead of click) so that each margin is 10 pixels from the edge of the light colored box. It should start on the topmost part of the first row of circles underneath the power/body or the attack and cost. Use the JUSTIFY command on the paragraph toolbar. This makes the text line up with both margins by increasing or decreasing the distance between spaces (This feature is limited to Photoshop users, it does not work on elements). For the text itself, use Gill Sans regular/roman at any size between 10 and 17, with 96% width. Go smaller if you really need to, but people might have trouble reading. Use the largest size allowable for the effect?s content. If you have more than one attack/power/body with an effect box, the same size MUST be used on each occasion.
http://img52.exs.cx/img52/1084/fig6.jpg
NOTE! This is now incorrect! 96% width needed. Feh.
Now for attacks. Energy symbols first.
For 1 Energy cost attacks, have the symbol central on the second circle of the row. EG;
e-O-e-e-e (where O = the energy symbol and e = the empty circles).
From then on (attacks with 2 Energy cost or more), you go from the first circle.
O-O-e-e-e
O-O-O-e-e
O-O-O-O-e
O-O-O-O-O
Quite easy. Keep the symbols central, and they should all be the same distance apart!
http://img52.exs.cx/img52/562/fig7.jpg
For the attack name (Gill Sans Condensed Bold, size 23, 89% width), if you have a cost of 1 to 3 Energy for this attack, have the leftmost edge of the attack name 5 pixels right from the left edge of the fourth circle. For 4 Energy attacks, have it 5 pixels right from the left edge of the fifth circle. For 5 Energy attacks, put it 8 pixels right of the last symbol of the cost. Either way, it is always 1 pixel up from the bottom edge of the symbols.
http://img52.exs.cx/img52/5386/fig8.jpg
http://img52.exs.cx/img52/1046/fig9.jpg
Attack damage is Gill Sans Regular/Roman size 23 at 89% width. It is 10 pixels away from the right edge of the light colored box. The bottom of the damage always lines up with the bottom of the attack name. If you have + or x, + is size 12 Gill Sans Condensed Bold at 100% width, lines up with the bottom of the attack damage and is central in the 10 pixel space between the damage and the right of the box. As for x, the placement is the same, but it is size 12 Gill Sans Regular/Roman at 100% width.
http://img52.exs.cx/img52/733/fig10.jpg
Go back to the previous lickle bit if you still need to know how to do attack effects.
Shift the attacks around so that they look correct, and there is a sort of an even amount of space between them and the top and bottom of the light box. It can?t be EXACT, but it looks better if there is a similar amount of space.
http://img52.exs.cx/img52/7673/fig11.jpg
Congratulations! You have finished the attacks!
But it?s not over yet! Darn. The bottom part is yet to do.
Weakness; situate the symbol central to the word, 1 pixel below it. The left and right edges of the symbol should be halfway between each ?e? in Weakness. If you have 2 Weaknesses, have both symbols 1 pixel apart, keeping them central with the word. Exact positions are unconfirmed and I?m too lazy to do so.
http://img52.exs.cx/img52/7366/fig12.jpg
Resistance; if your card has it, lay down the -30 first. It is Gill Sans Condensed Bold size 8 at 89% width. Have it 3 pixels right of the last ?e? of Resistance. Next, put the symbol central with the word and -30, as though they were 1 word. The symbol should start roughly where the ?t? begins. 1 pixel down. Again, 2 Resistance?s exact positions are unconfirmed, but put them central again.
http://img65.exs.cx/img65/7931/fig13.jpg
Retreat cost; simple, 1 pixel down, keep it central. No further elaboration. Go away.
http://img65.exs.cx/img65/9949/fig14.jpg
Actually, stay. I have the very bottom parts yet to do.
We?ll start with the rarity symbol. It goes 20 pixels to the left of the INNER right side of the border (quite easy). Keep the bottom of it in line with the Nintendo/Pok魯n copyright. Next is the card?s number. It is Futura LT Medium Bold Italic, size 7, 100% width. Again, keep it vertically aligned with the copyright, and have it roughly 3 pixels left of the rarity symbol.
http://img65.exs.cx/img65/4382/fig15.jpg
Finally, the 9 digit ID. I tend to make up anything here. Futura LT Medium Regular at size 7, 100% width. Dump it 3 pixels left of the left edge of the Weakness ?swirl,? and keep it vertical with the copyright again. Easy.
http://img65.exs.cx/img65/2338/fig16.jpg
You?ve made a card. Yay!
Other things;
Evolutions are laid out exactly the same as basics except the powers/bodies. Also, they have the ?evolves from? text. This is Gill Sans Bold Italic size 8 at 100% width, and only ever says ?Evolves from (Pok魯n)?. They scrapped the ?Put the Stage 1/2 on the Basic/Stage 1 card? text. Slap it 8 pixels from the bottom corner of the little box that says ?Stage 1/2? and 2 pixels down from the Illus. bar.
http://img65.exs.cx/img65/8593/fig17.jpg
Pok魯n-ex are quite easy to sort. Same as basics, but you just put the ex symbol 10 pixels right of the name.
http://img65.exs.cx/img65/2289/fig18.jpg
In fact, the same goes for the Shining Pok魯n and their symbol, but pull that down 1 pixel so that it is 4 pixels away from the silver image border instead of 5.
http://img65.exs.cx/img65/879/fig19.jpg
ok, I believe I?ve covered everything now. I hope that this is comprehendible enough for anyone to use ^_^
If you like, use Humanist in place of Gill Sans. Gill Sans is more precise here though. Contact me if you need the fonts, but please do a google search first -_-
I can suggest bookmarking this topic or something ridiculous like that, since it will come in very useful if you're using hidden legends.
Now for blanks and stuff! PLEASE only download what you need rather than everything in sight. This saves a lot of bandwidth issues. A move to a new and much more reliable server is currently being negotiated ;)

This kinda tutorial is based on the standalone Holosheet that can be used on an image that has a background already.
To teach you how to use a holosheet, I first need to know if you have Photoshop. If so, I'll explain.
First of, select all of the blank.
Then pick a selection tool (retangle by basic Pokmon) and click on the 'Substract from selection' button.
Select the white part in the border (where the illus. should come). Now you should see that the blank is totally selected, except for the white part.
Right-click on the blank and choose 'Layer via Cut'. The blank (without the white part) is now the upper layer.
Open your Pokmon image and resize it until it fits (check 'Constrain proportions' or something, in the 'Image Size' section under 'Image')
Then type for the width '325 pixels'. That would fit mostly.
Now, select the image by right-clicking it with the Pan-tool. Select the Layer that is the Image, most likely it will say 'Background' and 'Layer 2'. Choose 'Layer 2'.
Now, select the part of the Pokmon in the image with the Lasso-tool or polygonaial (something like that) or eventually, in a very clear image, the 'Magnetic Lasso'-tool.
After selecting that part (the Pokmon) there should appear a rotating accented line around it.
Right-click it and choose 'Layer via Cut'.
-----Almost finished....
Open the Standalone Holosheet (http://www.evilblender.com/zeoblanks/accesories/holo/holosheet-jpg.html)
Press Ctrl+A and the whole Holosheet should be selected. Then Press Ctrl+C to copy it.
Go to the Pokmon fake card and select the Pan-tool. Rightclick on the image around the pokmon. Select 'Layer 2' (or the one other than 'Background'.
Press Ctrl+V. The Pokmon should be visible now, but the background of the Pokmon not.
Go to 'Layers'. Select the Holosheet layer (mostly Layer 4).
Go to the 'Layer'-Menu and select 'Duplicate Layer...' and choose the file of the Pokmon card on which the holosheet should be attached and press OK.
Select the upper holo-layer (Layer 4 copy or so) and set the box with 'Normal' in it to 'Multiply'.
Set the Opacity to 25%-30%.
Now select the rear holo-layer and set the 'Normal'-part to 'Color Dodge'.
Set the opacity to an amount between 80% and 100%, whatever fits the best.
Now you've attached a holosheet!!!!!
Thanks for the suggestions to Fangking Omega and King Shuckle!

Fang is known for his Hidden Legends tutorial. Fang was asked to make a Trainer tutorial to go with it. Fang did.
It has been a joint effort between Zeo's Elite 4 Master and myself to create this wonderful guide towards making the perfect Advance Trainer card. This tutorial IS adapted for Photoshop (and generally versions 6.0+) as usual, but any program with width altering prowess is acceptable.
Opening notes; fonts used are instead Humanist instead of the usual Gill Sans. Humanist is easily obtainable from Pokemon Zeos (www.pokemonzeo.com) main page in the accessories section and (I found) it is more adaptable to Trainer cards than Gill Sans due to some sizing issues. Gill Sans would be acceptable, but a lot of the widths would be different, so I suggest the use of Humanist in this case.
I've been a bit minimalist on images because this is relatively easier than a Pokmon card.
Setting width is as usual for Photoshop users. Go to the Window menu, select Show Character and use the box to set width.
Setting justification is something of an irritation to many, but again I will explain how to do it. First, draw a text box by dragging the Text tool rather than just clicking. Then, go to the Window menu, select Show Paragraph and use THIS button;
Figure 0
http://img65.exs.cx/img65/7871/fig00vv.jpg
After that, type away. Dont ever use the return key. Ever.
We shall start as usual with the trainers name. The font to use is Humanist Condensed Bold at a wonderful size 22, and the width is a curious 102%. To align it, look at the dark grey edge of the image border (a thin strip that progressively gets narrower). It goes 3 pixels from the RIGHT edge of this, and goes 4 pixels above the top edge of the image border.
Figure 1
http://img75.exs.cx/img75/2671/fig16fa.jpg
Then we can do the Trainer type. Is it a Supporter, Pokmon Tool, Stadium, Technical Machine or Rockets Secret Machine? If it is just a standard trainer, skip this section.
This time, the font is Humanist Italic, size 14 at 104% width. It goes 6 pixels up from the top of the light grey box, it isnt QUITE aligned with the circles. At the right side, get it so the bottom right of the text is in line with the top right corner of the very same light box. See Fig 1 again.
Now onto my least favourite part; the trainer effect and ruling box. Horizontally, draw the text box so there are margins of 27 pixels on either side. Vertically, it is exactly central so determine this once youve typed out the effect/rule. Apply JUSTIFICATION, explained earlier.
Figure 2
http://img36.exs.cx/img36/3702/fig26sw.jpg
For a specific ruling, the font size is very fussy. Humanist Regular/Roman size 12.45 at 95% width. Line Spacing (determined on the character box, usually above the width setting) should be size 13.
The rulings are here, courtesy of E4M
Stadium
This card stays in play when you play it. Discard this card if another Stadium card comes into play.
Supporter
You can play only 1 Supporter card each turn. When you play this card, put it next to your Active Pokmon. When your turn ends, discard this card.
Pokmon Tool
Attach (Pokmon Tool Name) to 1 of your Pokmon that doesnt already have a Pokmon Tool attached to it. If that Pokmon is Knocked Out, discard this card.
Technical Machine
Attach this card to 1 of your Evolved Pokmon (excluding Pokmon-ex and Pokmon that has an owner in its name) in play. That Pokmon may use this cards attack instead of its own. At then end of your turn, discard (name of Technical Machine).
Rockets Secret Machine
No special ruling
KthxE4M
Now move onto your trainers effect. It can really be any size up to size 16, Humanist Roman/Regular, 95% width, line spacing set to 1 size greater than the size of the font. Shrink the font size accordingly.
(E4Ms little bit) The Illus. is just like in a Pokmon card. Futura LT Medium Italic at size 7, 100% width is normal, but on a Trainer card, the Illus. is lined up with the white box where the Trainer description goes. The Illus. line is 3 pixels from the top of the Trainer description box, and now you have given the illustrator credit! KthxE4M.
The rest is very similar to a standard Pokmon card, thus no images.
(E4Ms little bit) Rarity symbol is 20 pixels to the left of the inside of the right side of the border and keep it lined up with the Nintendo/Pokmon Copyright text. The card for the set number is just like the Illus; Futura LT Medium Bold Italic, size 7, 100% width. Just like the rarity symbol, keep it on the same level as the Nintendo/Pokmon line and it goes 3 pixels left of the rarity symbol. KthxE4M
The 9 digit ID is Futura LT Medium Regular, size 7, 100% width. It goes 5 pixels right from the bottom left corner of the description box, kept vertically level with the copyright.
Job done OMM!
I believe we have covered everything needed for a perfect trainer. If youre using Classic Advance (which is less used these days) then only the 9 digit ID and set symbol should change location, but they are relatively similar. Use HL, its easier =P
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me via PM, email, or any other methods deemed necessary. Carrier Pigeons are not my favourite things.

For clarification, I use the following;
After putting on the holo, I duplicate it so there are two holo layers.
Rear holo layer - multiply mode - opacity 25 percent
Front holo layer - color dodge mode - opacity 80 percent
If you don't know how to get to the layers command to edit mode and opacity on Photoshop, go to the Window menu and select "show layers".
Thanks Ivar, very useful ^_^

I'm so brilliant that they're here. Never actually saw a release on the old server due to running out of spaceness. Notice that this is a temporary directory since the server move is being negotiatified, and is likely to go ahead soon.

Yeah, for anyone who used the old server it's now gone. I'll need to send some final blanks to Steve (unfortunately, they're the biggest set and it's not much fun to send by 56k; it's basically travelling by telephone.)
Please be patient, they'll show up EVENTUALLY...
Oh, and I forgot to mention that I'm actually retired from faking....

This tutorial is for fakers that have some problems at placing the evolution icon. It's designed for Photoshop (version 6 up, I believe), but I'm very sure it also works on Paint Shop Pro...
For it you'll need a Pic, a Stage 1 or 2 blank and the Evo Icons, d'uh!
First, select this tool, the Eliptical Marquee
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d12/QFred/002.jpg
Second, make an elipse around the evo icon placer, with a good leap (sp?)!
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d12/QFred/001.jpg
Third, go to Layer > New > Layer From Background
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d12/QFred/003.jpg
Fourth, with the Square/Rectangle Marquee Tool, on Layer 0 (the one that was your Background), take the white part where is suppose to place the pic!
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d12/QFred/004.jpg
Fifth, deselect, it will make things easer, I assure you!
Sixth, place the Evo Icon, above the Layer 1.
Seventh, zoom at 500% and select the Eliptical Marquee. Make a rigorous circle. Inverse the selection.
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d12/QFred/005.jpghttp://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d12/QFred/006.jpg
You will end with some thing like this, but using the details you prefer (pic, blank, evo icon, d'uh!).
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d12/QFred/007.jpg
Using that as a beginning you can make better Stage 1 or 2 Pokmon cards!
Hope you like it and use it!

Hmmm....This seems like more of a tutorial to get your pic beind the evo circle. The way I do it, I just drag and drop the evo icon on the evo circle and leave it at that. Then, with the eraser tool, I just erase enough so the pic can go around the evo circle. I will sticky this for those who may want to do it your way.

Fake cards aren't just fake versions of real cards, they're also custom, which means you can have an uber-powerful, one-of-a-kind card that you have the satisfaction of knowing that you made it yourself.
Oh, and is there a tutorial for making fake special energy cards?

It can take even longer if you want to do something REALLY special.
mewtwo-EX
January 4th, 2006, 04:37 AM
It also depends on what you're trying to do. If you have all the parts and its a matter of putting different attacks on a card, then it shouldn't take too long. But if you want to make each design, digitally cut out each part, and thus create a card that is completely custom, it can take hours, even days.
Similar example: I designed all the TCards I make. Designing and making it useable takes at least an afternoon. Usually 2 days to get the kinks out. After its made though, I can change text and pictures in a matter of minutes.

Sorry for the long delay - better late than never though :P. This tutorial covers just about everything, fom the placing of the text to the card art now :).
Some important notes: This Special Energy Card Tutorial is adapted for Photoshop 6 and up. Of course, this tutorial may not necessarily be 100% correct - I could be wrong. As for the Special Energy card blank, there isn't anywhere else to get it other than Pokebeach. To access the link, click here (http://pokebeach.com/exblanks.shtml) and scroll down until you see the link to the Special Energy card blank. Also, all fonts are the standard fonts used for making other fake cards.
All ready? Then let's begin!
Before we start, we’ll need to change the foreground colour to white, since all text will be white in colour. To do this, hit D on your keyboard to select default colours, and then hit X to switch Foreground and Background colours. You toolbar should look something like this:
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y77/shadow_bind/Energy%20Card%20Tutorial/Figure1.jpg
Figure 1
First, we’ll start with the name. The name uses Gill Sans MT Bold, size 20 at 100% width. Put it 5 pixels from the top of the black line and 2 pixels on the right from the left edge of the black line.
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y77/shadow_bind/Energy%20Card%20Tutorial/Figure2.jpg
Figure 2
For the text ‘Special Energy card’ (to the right of the Energy card’s name), use Gill Sans MT Regular, size 14 at 96% width. Place it 2 pixels on the right from the left edge of the black line. Put it 5 pixels above the black line.
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y77/shadow_bind/Energy%20Card%20Tutorial/Figure3.jpg
Figure 3
Things get a little complicated here. For the Energy’s effect, draw a text box by drag-clicking to create a box. Align the box so that it is exactly the width of the black line. The text box should be about 5 pixels below the line. Open up the Paragraph window, and click ‘Justify last left’. (If you can’t see the window, click ‘Window’ on your menu and select ‘Show Paragraph’.)
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y77/shadow_bind/Energy%20Card%20Tutorial/Figure4.jpg
Figure 4
For the text, use Gill Sans MT Regular, at 96% width. Your text can range between the size of 11 and 15. Set the leading (the distance between two lines) 1 point bigger than your font. (For example, if your font is size 12, then your leading should be 13.)
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y77/shadow_bind/Energy%20Card%20Tutorial/Figure5.jpg
Figure 5
The final parts are similar to Fangking’s tutorial for Pokémon cards. The 9-digit ID is placed 15 pixels from the right of the yellow border, and its bottom should be aligned with the Nintendo copyright. Use Futura LT Medium Regular, size 7 at 89% width.
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y77/shadow_bind/Energy%20Card%20Tutorial/Figure6.jpg
Figure 6
The rarity symbol goes about 25 pixels from the left of the yellow border. Put the card number 3 pixels to the left of the rarity. For the card number, use Futura LT Medium Bold Italic, size 7 at 89% width. Align the bottom of the card number with the Nintendo copyright, then shift the rarity symbol 1 pixel up from the bottom of the card number. The set symbol should go roughly somewhere between the rarity symbol and the yellow border.
Finally, for the illustrator, use Futura LT Medium Italic, size 7 at 100% width. It should be aligned to the left edge of the black line. Put it about 23 pixels from the top of the yellow border.
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y77/shadow_bind/Energy%20Card%20Tutorial/Figure7.jpg
Figure 7
And that's about all for the text part. Easy, wasn't it :)?
Now, if you can't make an authentic-looking Special Energy card if you don't have authentic looking art now, would you? Here's a basic tutorial on how to create your very own Special Energy art from scratch:
Art Tutorial (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/30848389/)
The tutorial also covers some other things that I missed out earlier. To download it, just click 'Download to Desktop'. You'll need Winzip to open the files though :).
That is all for my very basic Special Energy card tutorial. I hope you've found it useful :P
If you have any questions, feel free to PM me and I will try to help you...just don't expect a reply too soon OK :P?

Hey, thank you very much for the tutorial Shadow Bind. I've already had good luck following it. But I wondered if you know of any source for the bits that are needed to make energy cards, namely the big and little energy simbols, especially the basic ones, and the ones from multi, and other special energy? Should I scan those myself?

I've now updated the tutorial with another tutorial (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/30848389/) on how to create art for the Special Energy card. After all, I shouldn't be stingy with what I know, right :P? Take note that the tutorial is long. I can't help it, I'm very wordy...
And now the tutorial is complete! Could someone please sticky it?

The Quick Card Making Tutorial
This tutorial's purpose is to make cards faster than normal. Only when you have already made a card that is. Let's start already. Note that this tutorial is made for Photoshop Users.
We will make a Dark Dragonite card for this Tutorial, just for an example.
Step 1:
First of. Open your recently made card that is similar to your upcoming new card (If the energy symbols of the new card are similar or used by a recent card or something Etc). Make sure that the placements are correct on the recent card (Used Fangking's Tutorials and such). Let's open my Dark Tyranitar Card as an example shall we?
Figure 1
http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i136/greatchikorita/Tutorial%20Pics/DarkTyranitarsamplecard.png
Step 2:
Open your card blank. Let's open a Rocket Style Dark Stage 2 card for this tutorial.
Figure 2
http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i136/greatchikorita/Tutorial%20Pics/adv-dark-dark-trr-s2sample.jpg
Step 3:
> On the recent card
Select the Layer of the Name (With the Move Tool, right click on the Name and select the Layer of the Name. Or simply select the Layer with the Layers Window) Now with the Rectangular Marquee tool. Right Click and Select 'Duplicate Layer...' and duplicate the layer onto the card blank.
> On the Card Blank
Not look at it. The name should be there sitting in the blank like this:
Figure 3
http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i136/greatchikorita/Tutorial%20Pics/adv-dark-dark-trr-s2sample2.png
If you haven't seen the recent card's name in the blank, try again or set the arrangement to 'Bring to Front' or something.
Step 4:
Do this with the other useful symbols and texts like Id, #, Illus., Damage, Atk name, HP, etc. (Repeat Step 3 but do this with the other useful symbols and texts instead of the name.)
You will end up with something like this:
Figure 4
http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i136/greatchikorita/Tutorial%20Pics/adv-dark-dark-trr-s2sample3paint.png
Step 5:
Now add the other symbols and texts that the card still needs. After that. Move and Edit all the things that are needed to be changed.
This Should be your situation right now...
Figure 5
http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i136/greatchikorita/Tutorial%20Pics/DarkDragoniteSpnonholosamplenoncomp.png
Step 6:
Now all you need to do is to slap in your pic and poof! You have finished your Card!
Click Here to see the Finished Product (http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i136/greatchikorita/DarkDragoniteSpnonholo.png)
Tutorial Advantages:
You will avoid doing some hard and grueling steps like adjusting the width etc.
You have done your card quickly! Do this if you're in a hurry or something.
Hope this Tutorial Helps. I will also post some other tutorials that I made like 'How to put your pic to your card Tutorial' or something.
Feel Free to ask questions or to give other comments or suggestions.
This Tutorial can also be posted on Zeo and on Serebii. Credit me if used on another site or ask permission to me Via PM.

I would merge this, but I have a problem with this tutorial. It doesn't really go into placement. With this tutorial, one would assume that placement doesn't matter and they could put the text in different spots and the symbols in the wrong spot. Oh sure, they know where it goes, but it would have perfect placement unless you specify what the placement for stuff is. It's still a good tutorial though.
10/10 for Dark Dragonite though. :P

This is in fact an old Fangking strategy, but not one that I ever deemed worthy of devoting writing time to :) It cuts time massively, which is only an advantage.
This is very very useful and I advise all fakers to follow it. But please ensure that the card you're using as a base is flawless (see Fangking card making tutorial! Haha).
10/10 and the Fangking seal of approval. All fakers should use this.

can someone tell me:
why oh why is this happening:
I cannot allways move sth what I want (text, energy symbol...) for 1 pixel up\down\left\right, but I have to move it for 2 pixels.
whhhhhy?!?!?
i'm working in Adobe PS2.
and it was supposed to be smart.
what is his problem?
why doesn't he want to move freakin text for 1 pixel?!
Fangking Omega
June 15th, 2006, 09:40 PM
Are you zoomed in at at least 100% pixels or closer? If you're zoomed out, it has a tendency to skip pixels when moving an object. Also, are you dragging it or tapping the keyboard? Keyboard gives greater precision
Lunanai
June 15th, 2006, 10:08 PM
yay!
thanks.
it's not the zoom thing (because i was doing it on 1600% zoom)
it was the keyboard thing.
thanks!

just reading this tutorial...
are you guys sure that:
power name (basic) is 20 pixels right of the "power" symbol
and that power name (stage 1\2) is 10 pixels right of the "power" symbol
when I look at the real cards, it seems that the distance is the same for basic and stage Pokémon. The only difference is that the stage ones are shifted to the right. (but no distance change)

i've looked at a lot of cards just to check.
there's a same distance between the symbol and the power name
for basics and evolutions as well.
Fangking Omega
June 21st, 2006, 02:27 PM
I've noticed this is true on newer cards. Older cards were basically equivalent to my wording, but it appears to have since changed. Thank you for highlighting this :)
Lunanai
June 21st, 2006, 03:22 PM
i've looked at it even more closely
and it seems that there's no special rule where Power names start.
I was comparing it with "Evolves from...".
Most of the times, Power name starts where "m" starts.
sometimes it's somewhere about "o"
and sometimes after "m"
so, it seems that not even the card creators care where to put Power names,
so I guess it's not that important (although, it can have sth to do with the font size of the effects; or with the length of the name)
Fangking Omega
June 21st, 2006, 04:38 PM
Their vertical placement also seems to vary as well as horizontal. Evidently they don't care much. Never mind. I like to have at least some rule to work from :) Thank you for your input.

Hi guy! In fact, I will share some of my technic used in one of the freaking programs for done illustrations: Adobe Photoshop
Here I will post some technic, please feel you free of comment or share your own methods to ;)
So let going!
Tutorials:
1) Lineart color change method
Ok, guys, this is a technic very useful than allow change the color of the lineart easily, this is really useful if you wish give to your drawings a soft feeling, and the good is than allow do degrades and use different hues and color in the same line. Here you can find a example done with this method:
Step 1: Clean the drawing
First, you have to consider than this technic can be apllied for drawing than have a solid lineart like inked drawings with pens, permanent makers. Also the drawing have to be the most clean possible before of beggin with the nexts steps (you can complete the cleanage digitally painting with white any imperfection like bluers or spot than appears after the scanning). A good Tip is try to do your pic the biggest possible, so in that way if you resize it the little mistake almost can be visible and will be easier for clean them
Here is my image than I will use like example
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v352/Adepth_ex/bad_ass_jigglypuff_xD.jpg
Step 2: Becoming trasparent the drawing
Now you have to unlock your drawing, for that you have to go in the superior menu and select in Layer>New Layer>From Background.... With that you will be capable of work the layer more freely for the next step in wich we will become it trasparent your drawing.
For that go to the Channel windows and do click in "load channel as selection".
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v352/Adepth_ex/1.jpg
With that you will select the white color in your pic, now only delete the selection and you will have the next:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v352/Adepth_ex/2.jpg
Step 3: Adding the color to the lineart
Now the last step... now you have to create another layer, this one put it below the lineart layer (the one wich have your drawing) and paint it completely with black. Now go to the Layer window menu and do click with the right button of the mouse on the name of the layer painted in black, it should appears you a menu, do click in the option than say: create clipping mask
http://img50.imageshack.us/img50/4237/3uu3.png
Now you can beggin to add color in the lineart, for that you have to go in the "Clipped Mask Layer" and beggin to paint following the path of the linart, doing this you will see than the lineart beggins to change of color.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v352/Adepth_ex/4.jpg
Working in the "Clipped Mask Layer" yo can create many effects using the different tools, like in this example in I create a degrade using the brush tool, differents colors and the blur tool
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v352/Adepth_ex/5.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v352/Adepth_ex/6.jpg
I hope than this technic be useful for you. Soon I will post more methods for do your own ilustration for the cards! See you later ;P

I give you the one, the only, DP Guide for Fake Cards e americano! Credit to Cipher DSX and Cascade Gonpory who holds the blanks.
DP Series Tutorial: By Cascade Gonpory
NAME: 10 pixels across (right), 8 pixels down from the Border
Lv. : 5 pixels from the name. Same level
X symbol: 3 Pixels from the Full stop on Lv.
HP: Up 5 pixels from the Picture frame, across to your left 4 pixels
Evolves from: 1 pixel up from the level of "stage?" then 10 pixels right
Level up from: 12 pixels from the end of the GOLDEN holo bar (which LEVEL UP is written in), then 6 pixels up from the bottom of the silver bar.
Flavour Text: Make the font CENTERed and then place it in the VERY middle of the bar, just guess! or you can be TECHNICLE! - While transferring the layer from the symbol sheet, hold down "SHIFT" while dragging the text layer to the BLANK, it should then appear suscessfully in the middle of the blank, and the in it is simply 10 pixels down!
Any ENERGY symbol or POKE-???: anywear above 10 pixels from the "text bar", and 10 across, any extra energy symbol should be placed abon the first energy, and then another 10 pixels to the right. With the Poke-??? name, just link the name and the oval symbol when transferring smile.gif! and other attacks should be no less than 10 pixels under the effect
DAMAGE!: alight it with the attack text then draw it to the right border, it is 10 pixels from there!
Attack text: on the symbol sheet, i have handily added the right sized text boxes, and they should be either 10 pixels below the attack name (which when making the attack name "Centered" drag it down using the same sort of techneque as "flavour text" but just lower) - and your text should be 10 pixels from the left (which will end up being 10 pixels from the left as well, wither side you do 10 pixels, it'll work perfectly smile.gif!
POKEDEX flavour text info (paragraph):align this with the line to divide the region of attacks and pokedex entry. then 10 below the line smile.gif!
Illustrator: 2 pixels up from the bar, and 20 pixels from the right border.
Weakness, Resistance and Retreat Cost: Centre them to the are in the middle of the text, and it's 1 pixel below the text or Weakness, Resistance or Retreat cost
Set number: 2 pixels up from the border, and 30 pixels from the RIght border.
Rarety: 2 pixles up, 20 pixels from the right border.
Set symbol: make the size fit into atleast 17x17 pixels. And it is 1 pixel from both bottom and right border.
