    Niinii gets a cookie for figuring out who says the quote. :3

    The title of this blog doesn't really speak what this blog is about, but it does in fact, relate to it. Nica told me the other day that I should summarize something after she summarized her journey from hating B/W to becoming mod of the B/W Section and loving it. I had no idea what I would summarize, and she suggested my 'Tales of Symphonia' obsession. Now, I'm not sure whether or not she meant from the beginning or from the past year, but for the fun of it, I'm going to start way back in the year 2005, when I first played Tales of Symphonia and was obsessed with it for the first time.

    Now, I'm sure several of you guys have said that I got obsessed in 2004. Well... I suck at remembering years, I just remember events. But thanks to remembering when I moved to Florida (March of 2004) I realized that it was not 2004, but 2005. Just one year, but it doesn't change any of the facts. To be honest, Tales of Symphonia was actually recommended to me from a friend on another forum (this forum is long gone). Of course, my parents aren't exactly ones to buy games so I randomly asked my friend one day if she had it. To my surprise, she did.

    So for the first time, my sister, my friend, and I played Tales of Symphonia. My sister and I however, missed a few parts of the game, because my friend would play it while we were over. Due to this, my sister and I decided to get it ourselves when we saw it at a store one day. Once we had gotten it, we started our own file, and played it ourselves. My friend would sometimes come over and play with us as well. During this obsession with Tales of Symphonia, my family had gone on a cruise for a week. During this week, I had broken my glasses (on my Birthday no less) but it didn't stop me from playing Tales of Symphonia. Due to the fact that we didn't get me new glasses until school started again, I would play | | close to the Tv Screen so I could see. Yeah, nothing was going to stop me from playing.

    At least until my Beyblade obsession kicked up. Then my Tales of Symphonia obsession had died down... for the time being. Though I'm sure that it was still around, as during the year of 2005 I had joined Gaia Online. I mainly lingered in the Roleplaying section, and while there was no Beyblade Roleplays, there were several Tales of Symphonia roleplays. Guess where I was.

    However, it really kicked up again in the Summer of 2006 (this I remember, because of the FIFA World Cup). My sister and I had gotten obsessed with the game again, and even brought it along during our trip to Honduras. While we didn't get much of a chance to play it, we still spoke about Tales of Symphonia a lot during our trip, and even managed to play it on one of my cousins' Gamecubes after trying to get it to work for an hour. It was at that time when we first started using the Hi-Ougis and boy was it fun. Than you, Dragon in the Earth Temple! After we got home, we got my friend obsessed with it again for a while.

    The next few years are a blur, really, and it's mainly because other fandoms overshadowed Tales of Symphonia for a bit. One of them was Tales of the Abyss. When I first got the game though, I got stuck on Arietta and gave up for a year. After that year was gone, I played it again, beat Arietta and eventually beat the game. It was at that time when I thought that Tales of the Abyss was better then Symphonia, and that I liked it more. It was around that time when I started roleplaying on Livejournal (So... 2007-2008) and my first app'd character was Fon Master Ion.

    However, it was a few small months later when I then played Tales of Symphonia again (after applying as Colette somewhere) and I realized that it wasn't Abyss that I liked more, but Symphonia. While Abyss might have a better battle system, I liked the story and the characters of Symphonia more, and overall just enjoyed playing it more. It was around this time when my favorite character went from Lloyd to Mithos as well, because after I applied as Colette, I watched the Kratos story from Tales of Fandom II. After seeing the flashbacks with Mithos and his sister, I simply adored him much more. I applied as Mithos in the same roleplay (and also managed to bring Raine in without an application) after that, and it was none other than Past!Mithos that I brought in.

    Think it was around that time when I started to love MithosxGenis as well.

    Between that time and now, my obsession with Tales of Symphonia have gone up and down again. For a while it was overshadowed by Red (as you all know) and several other fandoms. During times, such as ToS2 and when new episodes come out, my obsession would spring back out of nowhere, and stay for a while before going back to the shadows. Now, let us simply skip to when it came back up within the past year, which would be Aug-Sept 2010.

    I'm not sure how many people remember the first time Red shared theme space with someone other than a PokeSupe character. Wel... it was none other than Mithos that he was sharing a space with. Coincidentally, this was around the time when I was modded (since I still have the CSS for the theme and it says 'Moderator of Pokemon Trivia' on it. XD; ) It stayed for the month of September, until Shaman King took it over for a while.

    ...

    Then it came back around October I forget why, and to make this already long blog just a little shorter I've been obsessed with it since. xD;

    tl;dr: Got obsessed in 2005. It left and came back several times after wards.

    I guess the reason why I chose that quote for my title though, is that it's true. Change is inevitable, which is why even though I said that Red will always be around, he actually wouldn't. No matter how hard one tries, things will change, and their love for things will change. Regardless of this though, this love for Tales of Symphonia have somehow stuck with me, even with the other things that have overshadowed it (Beyblade, Pita-Ten, Tales of the Abyss, Kamichama Karin... the list goes on). Maybe one day my opinion on this lovely game will change, but for the time being, it's still being listed as my favorite game of all time.

    Wow.... you've always had a sort of rollercoaster-esque love for ToS. What shocked me most is that you declared at one point that you thought TotA was better =0 I mean, I knew you enjoyed Abyss, but... never would I have thought that you'd ever have thought any Tales game you've played was better than Symphonia.

    Also, the quote? I'm gonna guess ToS? :V Seems like a Raine quote to me.
