A recent revalation in the most current CoroCoco thread revealed this picture:
Seemingly conclusive proof that Z will be the sequel to X&Y, right? Well after doing some hard research I discovered something quite shocking:
It would seem that every starter to date has been designed with the purpose of showing the initial of its games! That might not seem too significant, but I remember back when people thought the third gen 4 game would be Pokémon Opal. If one had simply looked at the starters and noted the extremely obvious 'P' in both Chimchar and Piplup, they would have known Opal was impossible all along! It's the same story with generation 5, though honestly I think it's even worse because the B2W2 in Oshawott is just extremely obvious.
But I digress - what does the discovery of this pattern say for the future of Pokémon? I think this will be an invaluable tool when guessing sequel names in future.
