Before reading this, please note that I'm referring to the broadcasts that are brought from the antennas, not from digital satellite-based ones.
I'm sure you have heard of the term of DVB-T2, Digital TV and stuffs, right? When I searched on the net, it says that digital transmission of TV broadcast is presumably better than those of analog ones, and the best part is that there are no statics (or full of ants, as fellow friend in my country called it) when the signals are not quite good, and the fact that some of the country have starting to fully adopt it, some even dropped the analog signal at this time of writing (like Japan, and probably Australia, for instance).
I was excited about Digital TV when I heard that it will come to my country, and given that my newly bought TV already have the tuner for the Digital TV, I was wondering if my city will have some digital broadcasts ready, given that some major cities like Jakarta already have one, according to several local forums.
So I scanned, only to find out that there is only one digital channel so far, and it's not one of the well known channels (like SCTV or Indosiar, and many others), when I was expecting some of these to sneak in. I was a bit bummed because of the lack of selections of digital TV channels, I was hoping that there will be more channels coming to digital in my city soon, considering that most of them are still in analog broadcasting.
I hope that the government will fasten the process and socialize it to everyone at the same time, because I think, Digital TV is also the sign that the country is also moving towards the future, and I hope that my country will move on towards the new heights.
