So... today's Labor Day, & it's the day that I go back to my hometown. At least, it was until a few serious things came to light.
The thing that happened is, we own a house that we were leasing to a guy for about a year, give or take. The things that he has done during that time was nothing short of outrageous, & thus has made our lives completely miserable. Once his lease expired, he left the place a complete mess, even going so far as to leave at least a month's worth of trash lying in the basement!
So, who's the person that gets tasked in cleaning it up? Me... since nobody else is available.
What I need to get done around that place is some patch-up work on the walls, & once that
s finished get the hardwood floors cleaned up. It might sound simple, but it isn't & it's going to be a pretty time-consuming endeavor.
The end result? I'm forced to stay another bloody week at my sis' place! That translates into more time of having to put up with my mouthy, whiny niece, & everyone that's a light sleeper & wakes up at even the sound of a pin-drop. Not to mention that the signs of homesickness are starting to rear their ugly heads at me.
This is going to be a long week...
