Mood: Class got cancelled so might as well write the entry!

It's...very odd being back in school. I'm currently sitting in my campus' library - or more known as a media center because let's face it, no one ever reads anymore (unfortunately) - and it's very strange seeing all of these college faces again. The reason why I'm making these semi-unusual remarks is because, if you don't already know by past blog entries, I took the Spring semester off this year to decide on a new major, and as a result took a 9 month hiatus from school (as well as me coming back to PokeCommunity and subsequently becoming a Moderator in the process...I guess things work out in the end eh?). It seems almost foreign to be walking around my own campus again and awkwardly bumping into old friends and acquaintances. All and all though, it's a nice feeling. (Oh yeah, I should probably elaborate on the title. A "middler" is a term that my school uses for third year students because unlike some other schools, people can take up to 5 years to graduate from school. Hence why we have this name.)

    Spoiler:
So far though, my experience has shockingly been pretty relaxing. It's all and all a much different pace than my Nursing classes. As a Human Service major, 4/5 of my classes range to around 20-25 students and I have some of the most delightful professors (unlike those nasty, balls-to-the-wall stick-in-the-mud teachers I had for Nursing.) They're all very much approachable and I've been quite at ease when it comes to the material. This may be because I'm just in my element - I very much enjoy helping others - unlike Nursing where you had to memorize every disease, medicine, anatomical body component, and skill practice known to man. One things is pretty funny though - once again, there are only a handful of guys in the practice. I find that a little bit strange considering it's not like Nursing where there's a stigma around it, but unfortunately for those ladies I have a girlfriend so I'm not for the taking.

    Spoiler:
The only downside I can see from this whole experience so far is my housing situation. Unfortunately, because of unforeseen circumstances with forms and my mum recently getting laid off, I am living at home and thus have to take a train every morning to school. It's roughly around 40-50 minutes to campus, but luckily the station I get off at is actually located on campus so I don't have to take an alternative method from there to get where I'm going like some other students might have to do. It's alright though - in the end it saves my family a heap of money by living at home, but - not going to lie - I was looking forward to getting away from my parents for a bit. As a 20 year old adult-in-the-making (who am I kidding, I'm still a child on the inside haha) and after living with them for 9 months, I was looking forward to having my independence again and being away from home. But again, it's what's best for the family so I'll take what I can get.

    Spoiler:
But yeah! As of today, I've finished my first week of classes, and I'm happy to actually be back in classes instead of working nonstop. Whether or not the blog will take a hit because of this change in activity, time will only tell, but I'm not exactly too worried about something like that happening. Just gotta keep the faith is all! So what about you guys? Are you enjoying being back at school? What are some positives of your experience thus far? Some negatives? Comment below with your thoughts and opinions as I'd love to hear and discuss with you what you have to say about this topic!
