OK so, this has nothing to do with PC, so don't worry about anybody here. XD
Pretty much, I have this original character, and he is, by no means, an earth-shatteringly unique character, and I am fully aware of this, and I concede this fact. It is, by no stretch of the imagination, a complete impossibility that someone else would conceive a character idea that was like his in many many ways.
So I should've been totally okay with it when someone else-- namely someone who I was even friends with, and was/am totally bros with, made a character who looked almost exactly like him from the shoulders up. I mean, save for the fact that this character had white... pink... and green hair, instead of a pale brown/blonde. XD And that his glasses were green, instead of red.
But like, I still feel uneasy, because it's the same "group" of characters, you know? (Not to mention our art styles are incredibly similar, which only makes them look even MORE similar.)
And then I have always, always frowned upon people who accuse others of having too many "similarities" to their own character. Like, come on people, there are MILLIONS of characters in the world, someone out there is going to look somewhat similar bro, you're just gonna have to cry Justin Timberlake a river and get over it.
So when suddenly I'm subjected to this feeling that I've always scorned other people over, I'm torn because now I feel just as pathetic as the rest of the b'awww wagon, yet I don't know how to resolve it without asking them if they can alter their character a little. Which is, of course, the finishing brat move of the century.
Of course, we're not like... on bad terms or anything-- rather we're on really good terms. But I still feel like the biggest brat (and hypocrite) of the world.
Just thought I'd spill my guts to you, PC.
Ta~
