Tonight I saw a myriad of snails. All the snails looked the same, but not in regards to their identical physical appearance. They had something in common. Not their personalities, nor the nuances of their movements, but in their attitude to life. All the snails were out and doing stuff at night. Why night? Because there is nobody around. I only noticed the rarity of seeing snails, and that's because they come out purposely so you won't see them.
I came to the conclusion that I am a snail. I am most comfortable, most safe when the only people around are those who are similar to me. Those who agree with what I agree with, love what I love and do what I do; live for the same reason I live for. Snails go inside their shells when they are scared, vulnerable as I do, although they do it literally, I do it metaphorically.
Humans are like snails. Metaphoric snails. If you think I'm slimy, slow and disgusting, that's because you are not living for the reasons I'm living for. You are a different species, a foreigner, a predator. You are the reason I come out at night, so I don't have to see you, worry about you turning up.
