  • One thing I don't understand sometimes. Alright your in school and you have a group project that you have to do. You have a group of people inside your group that is doing something. This usually last at least two periods; 5th and 6th. I have reading in 5th period so I miss what the first part of the group is. You come back and ask what's going on and what you need to do. They tell you a few things and then they continue to work. Right they don't tell you what to do so you ask them and they say they can handle everything so you just sit there doing nothing; not being told what to do so you do other things on your school laptop.

So then your teacher comes over and is like "What are you doing? Your not suppose to be doining that". So you say back "No one is telling me anything what to do. They said they didn't need me to help with the project" then you get in trouble for it which get's me so annoyed. -just a rant-

  • Can you not pretend to do something? Or just be persistent to the rest of the group to make you do something? (Or do they just hate you, or something like that?)

  • This is why I hate school projects. -.- I love the concept of them, but there are other factors that discourage me from appreciating them. This instance is one of them.

To be fair, you could have asked the teacher about what you're supposed to do in the group when you returned, and you could have explained to her that your classmates weren't providing you with the project instructions before she called you out on being idle... though I hate it when people say "they can handle it" and don't include you in participation. I mean, it's your grade, too. You should only be excluded if you vocally express that you're fine with other people handling stuff...though sometimes, the teacher docks points if all group members don't participate. >_>

Also, you get a school laptop?! I received one during 9th Grade when I attended a collegiate-preparation school, but I didn't think it was common. If you're attending a public school, AshPikastar, this is a bit strange, as I would figure that most public schools wouldn't have the money to provide each student a laptop, or the tolerance to grant permission for students to bring home laptops to school. 0_0

  • Mr Cat Dog: Yeah I was pretending to do something and was trying to participate in the group. No they don't hate me there are two girls a Senior and a Junior that are well known around the academy. They are the ones that usually get things done and does it mostly alone so they do it. -some what the popular kids that are like the teachers pet-

Fenyx: I did tell her but she still got meh on me. It sucks a lot. Yeah I'm in a academy in High school that has laptops. I'm in information of technology Academy so we have laptops to do our school work and yeah I'm in a Public School.

  • Group projects can be a letdown sometimes, because there are chances that the people in your group can be unreliable sometimes. Sorry you had to go through it. Teachers assume that you know what to do. Asking him/her of a refresher would have made things better.

  • That is a reason why I don't like group projects. There is always one person who does more then the others (which is normally me) and it is almost impossible for everyone to do equal work. There was this one time me and this other kid had to do a poster. I did the whole poster while he sat next to me, playing games. Then I said every word in the group speech we did.

The other people were't worried that you'd mess up the project were they (sorry if that offends you) because that can happen in groups leading to people doing more then other people.

Group projects are rough. If the others know too much about the subject, they often just want to do it alone. If they don't know enough, you're often left doing most of the work. I hate them :/ Just gotta learn to deal with them I guess. I'm still getting them in college.
