  • Rarely, bar Thorton in lv. 50 single, do I find the first encounter with a frontier brain "exciting" or "beyond amazing." They're still using less than tier 4 Pocket Monsters and I know what's coming, so I don't expect wild battles there. Battle 49 is a different story, but in short, 21 isn't usually too much fun for me.

I just started playing the Battle Castle again since my loss, and with a brand new philosophy. (lost at 31 a few weeks ago because I fell asleep, lol) Up until round four (Battle 22 and on) I will give every member of my opponent's party +5 in level. Basically trading 3 CP, the cost, for 21 CP. (the product of such, 7 per party member) If you're not taking this measure already, I would suggest you at least try it. Your opponents are using laughable Pocket Monsters, for the most part, and if you can't handle +5 weak Pocket Monsters, I suggest you find yourself a better team or strategy. (if you do lose that early, it's okay, because it was early! It's also a great test to measure up how well built your team actually is) Not to mention how wonderful the use of your fresh 600+ CP after battle 21 will be.

I usually get 40 to 49 CP depending on how I perform in the battle. I stick to one of my two sweepers to ensure I finish with, at the very least, one party member with full health each battle. (meaning more CP added) This member is Garchomp, 99% of the time. Meaning my combination of Togekiss and Scizor work together to trump seven battles, and it works.

Eventually I find myself at battle 21, the time to face Darach. I set all of his Pocket Monster five levels higher and prepare for battle... little did I know how fantastic this would actually turn out. I haven't felt that much excitement since Jlizard and I tag teamed and won some breathtaking battles.

So if you have Platinum, head over to the terminal, because I doubt you'll want to miss this.

    77 - 63332 - 35406

I made one minor error in this battle, and that was forgetting the effects of my boosts to his team. If I had remembered such in the heat of the moment, I would've taken another SD with Garchomp, achieving plus six attack. I would've survived an Aerial Ace from Staraptor and Outrage would've KO'd Empoleon with ease. But thanks to my forgetfulness, +4 only brought Empoleon down to urgent warning health, letting him break my sub which was protection from Houndoom's SashCounter. If I had that +6 with a sub, I would've had it broken by Houndoom and attacked to 1 HP, or attacked down to 1 HP and countered, but protected by substitute. I would've died to Crunch and Scizor would've come in to finish it off. So all of that could have been avoided, but I'm kinda thankful for not remembering such.

So now my streak is 21 with 753 CP. My former streak fell asleep (lol) at 31 with 720 CP. This means that, with the first 3 rounds +5 strategy, I cut ten battles off to achieve higher CP. How 'bout them oranges?
