My week. [Involved BBC News + Radio + Something likely to put you off your food...]

  • I was on a radio program two days ago regarding a repulsive event that occurred in my local supermarket. Listen to the recording below for the ins and outs of it.

This was the last week I had in college and after a weekend slaving over getting all of my college work done and by the time Wednesday rolled along I had completely finished. I also received my iPhone this week (I know, it's not my birthday, but there was a SIM deal that was to expire before the end of the month and I couldn't possibly refuse it) and was then looking for some iPhone cases.

After dropping off my work at college, I was nearby and thought to popped into a local supermarket just down the road.

Now this supermarket has had quite a discrepancy with a customer complaining on a radio station I frequently listen to...involving quite a disgusting sort of event that led to an investigation going on with the Radio station and this particular supermarket in another area in this town.

Because I've been keeping track of this case over the radio, my curiosity perked me and I decided to look for the tarnished product itself...

Lord give me strength, what I saw was revolting.

Listen to the recording for more information about it.

    ...

I also had a telephone interview with a BBC News Reporter in my local county, which was then put on live TV last night. Here is the video on the BBC website:

  • Maggatory.

And hell you sound old in the video Crissy.

As for the shop, was it named ASD? Was that a keyboard ripoff? Or an even more amusing explanation, the owners are on LSD?

I'm glad I finally got to listen. That is an interesting story, though.

But, the news presenter doesn't sound...too interested. Might just be Australian ones. XD

  • That sounds absolutely disgusting. I mean who would eat Sunflower Seeds?

On a positive note, would this experience make you somewhat of a local celebrity?

  • Haha, well to be honest with you...I do not eat sunflower seeds, and after what happened during the last couple of days I probably never will!

And not really, it felt interesting to hear myself on both TV and Radio all in one week, but I was just doing my duty as a good citizen by reporting what happened.

I'll take that as a compliment, my dear Elia!

The supermarket in question is ASDA; part of the Walmart family.
I heard a voice clip of yours some months ago, you sounded young and sexy at that one.

    LSDA, I guess.

  • This is not the "my voice sounds different on TV" blog entry, woman!

What's even more annoying is that today I listened into the consumer program and yet again, ASDA ignored the invitation.

  • As if I care even slightly. Women are good at going offtopic.

Why are you annoyed? Laugh along. The radio station obviously fails, they already busted that store, end of the story. The fact they don't show up already makes everything pretty darn clear.

  • It is as Nica said, the radio program did absolutely nothing wrong. Let me clarify this, I was PROMISED by somebody at ASDA that somebody would take some time to talk on that radio program and I received no result. I forgot to make a mention of that in the blog entry, but I do feel very let down by that.

Laugh along? This is no joke and from my point of view it never has been one. Not only has the supermarket had numerous bouts of outrageous negligence over something that can be detrimental to consumers AND their sales, but it brings into question just how well they monitor the products they put on the shelves and it has certainly led me away from wanting to shop their for any natural product ever again. The more people know about it, the better I say.

And if the supermarket don't even have the gall to step up and say something in their defence, then I'm afraid I cannot fathom any form of sympathy for them.

I didn't want to click because I was eating at the moment, but it had English accents, so I couldn't refuse.

Figs, pistachios, and sunflower seeds. Maggots really like Asda.

Woah, you were actually listening to it at the time? That screams all kinds of awesome to me because I don't expect that on PC of all places. XD

Yep, I was. I didn't know it was you though, I just thought it was another random person. Me either, I was least expecting it but it is rather awesome though.

**** it. You didn't understand me. Not that it matters. I can rarely actually make my point on something anyway. Nobody understands me.

    Disgusting. x.x

Wow, that will make people stop eating sunflower seeds. I know if this happened in our grocery store(the one I work at) it will be taken care of. We will make sure that nothing get back on the shelf. We will get a recall on the contaminated food. It won't be back on the shelf until everything gets back to normal.

They should have taken care of that like we do in the US. That is uncalled for. They should have better judgment.

I am glad you complained about this to the radio station. Great job! And you just want to get a cover for your iPhone. XD

ASDA you better shape up, or you going to lose business. That is bad customer service of what they did.
