Well, I'm gonna post this at 12:01 am on the 25th of December, 2009 (GMT+12+DST? idk). As I start writing, it's 11:27 pm on Christmas Eve.
So New Zealand is the first country to get Christmas (apart from Finland, who apparently celebrate it on the 24th.), so I'm sitting here in bed, maintaining a vigil all by my lonesome.
I'm looking out the window now, and it's beautiful. The stars are out, and the streetlights don't drown them out. I can see the lights on the neighbours' tree because they left their curtains open. There's a little cloud in the sky, but it's that wispy grey kind that looks so pretty in the dark.
In here, the radio is playing Silent Night and Christmas shoutouts from listeners. It feels so great.
'Santa' came in and filled my stocking about half an hour ago, but he's gone to bed now, so I feel safe in getting my computer out again. I haven't peeked at anything in the stocking yet (It's not even Christmas yet, let alone a sane hour of the morning) but it looks bulky. D: I feel guilty. I've told Mum and Dad that I don't want anything much for Christmas, and they keep insisting. Same thing happened last year.
Oh, my god. The Pogues just came on the radio. You know the song, Fairytale of New York? It's my favourite Christmas song, after WHAM!'s Last Christmas. Now it feels like Christmas. This song is so great.
I got all my shopping done really early this year, and I did it all at one shop. This bookstore in town was having a massive sellout sale, so I bought everybody stuff there. Mum's getting two mystery novels that she loves so much, from authors I know she likes; Dad's getting a cookbook; Emma is getting a diary. She has a total diary fetish, so she'll be pleased as punch.
She's been really annoying us all lately, though. She keeps shaking and poking things under the tree to try and work out what they are. Even things that aren't for her. So for all I know, I could have some priceless statuette under the tree, in pieces because Emma shook it just a little too hard.
LOL I hope nobody got me a statuette. D:
Haha, XD. My little sister can't sleep. It's almost midnight, and she's got the old pre-Christmas jitters. Maybe I do too, idk. But either way, this is fun. Only eight minutes to go now!
Oh, man, choices for pre-Christmas music! Green Day or JET? I'mma go with JET. I love this song. Are you gonna be my girl? Cause you know, all I want for Christmas is you. <3

When I've done this, I'm gonna go read webcomics for a while. Then when my battery dies, I'm gonna play Diamond till I fall asleep. Then whatever, whenever.
This'll be a nice Christmas, I think. It's just me, my sister and my parents. No uncles, aunts, cousins, grandparents, etc etc ad nauseam.
Well, PC's timestamp tells me that it's officially Christmas, but it's a couple minutes ahead of my computer (which still reads 11:58), so I'm holding off a bit.
So, anyway, here we go.
