Similar to how an epic party must eventually end, PokeCommunity's week long Get Together 11's curtain finally fell down on the main stage Many of us most likely were waiting for another act to be for display for us, but instead of wishing for more we should enjoy and reflect on the memories that we were able to create. Surprisingly, although I've been a party of this site since 2009, this was the first Get-Together that I've participated in . I wasn't very social back in those days and I was most definitely narrow minded when it came to my purpose for this site (which I'll go more in depth on in a future entry) so I'm honestly not too surprised that I hadn't even heard of a Get-Together until it's first release earlier this year. As such, I just wanted to dedicate an entry to some of the antics that I got myself involved in this Get-Together.

    Spoiler:
In no real order of how much I enjoyed the events, let me start off with PokeCommunity's Survivor challenge. I remember when the Get-Together was first announced and how intrigued we all were about the cryptic message left by our site's admin, so it was very entertaining and hyped up when the idea of a "PC Survivor" was revealed. Nonetheless, it did live up to it's hype! It definitely had a Survivor feel to it, as I quickly found out when I got eliminated early on in the challenge. I'm not too surprised that I got voted off so quickly to be honest. While I did survive up to challenge #4, I believe I was viewed as a threat as I was our team's captain and I was very easily playing my cards right to make a deep run in the event. Although it was a little unfortunate that I got backstabbed very early on in Survivor, it's my own fault for playing the game incorrectly; I shouldn't have put myself out there so early on in the game and should have been low-key for most of the event's duration. Either way though, if Survivor does make it's way back to PC at any point, I'll definitely consider doing it again!

    Spoiler:
One of the coolest discoveries of mine during the Get-Together though was plug.dj, or better known by the GT Event's name "Radio Jams." If you didn't have a chance to check it out, essentially what it entitled was it was an open forum/room where anyone could come in and show off music with everyone in the room. Thanks to that, I was able to discover a lot of great new music as well as a site where I am now able to constantly visit for future new music. Another event as well that I had liked was the Cards Against Humanity event. CAH is by far one of the funniest and charming games to play, and my college friends and I have had constant nights where we play the game into dawn with stitches in our sides from laughing too much. As such, when I heard that Cards Against Humanity was going to be an event here on PokeCommunity, of course I was going to join it! It was also a great pleasure playing the game with a bunch of my Battle Server friends, as it was incredibly hilarious seeing how creative they could be.

    Spoiler:
The only dark spot on the Get-Together for myself at least was the GT11 Pokemon Battling Tournament. I like to think I can hold my own pretty well when it comes to battling, but my god there were a lot of good battlers that just came out of nowhere. At the same time, I was experimenting with a new OU team so it was really frustrating losing match after match. Not saying that I didn't win my own handful of matches, but it was a little bit rage inducing losing say, five matches in a row. It's more over just the fact that I find it a tad annoying not making any progress skill wise when you've devoted a lot of time researching how to make a great team and the results down't show. But hey, I just need to take this in earnest and keep moving past it is all. One day I'll get that "perfect team" down, but of course there will be a lot of trial and error when it comes to achieving that.

I would go into the Minecraft project that a bunch of friends and I made during the Get-Together, but I'm going to dedicate that for a separate entry. Nonetheless for my first PokeCommunity Get-Together, I think it was a great success overall by everyone who participated and arranged the events for all of us. So my question for everyone is what was your favorite Get-Together event? Did you overall enjoy yourself? Were there any events that you wish you could have participated in but just didn't have the time to do so? If there was something you could change about this year's Get-Together to improve on it for the next one, what would you improve? Comment below as I'd love to hear and discuss with you what you have to say about this topic!
