I'm playing a 8 bit game. And I'm loving it :(

I don't know if I'm already at a point where I like NES games because they remind me of my childhood and all that stuff. Or if I like it because is a really Nintendo hard game you don't see around anymore. Or if it's just that I played it after a somewhat average Zelda game. But Mega Man 9 is one of the best games I have played recently. Probably the best after PW: Trials and Tribulations last summer.

And yet the graphics are... well, the 8-bit crap you'd expect. But they are all what the game needs. The music? It's way better than 70% of Spirit Tracks' soundtrack. And, even if I have been killed around 90 times in 4 days, the levels are challenging, and you are given enough powerups and unlimited retries so you don't give up too easily. And when you beat a level after dying there for hours, it feels really awesome.

I wish more games were like this.

8-bit music is the best music ever.

I wish there was a modern game in 8-bit style, but with the awesome effects and whatnot of a 2010 game.

I swear, the music is what makes the game for me.

8-bit and OoT, MM music ftw <3

I like challenges, too. A lot of the newer games aren't as challenging as their predecessors. I mean, I used to complain about the older LoZ games being challenges, but now that I think about it, even though the new ones are somewhat fun, a challenge is good every once in a while.

Amen. I'd rather sit back and enjoy an old 8-bit game rather than a spankin' new Wii game. Actually, I just got a PS2 for Christmas. It's not as old as a NES, but think about it. It came out when? Early 2000's? And I got it in 09? What a weird Syd kid. :(
