Slight Tangent: I just saw the teaser trailer for 2.5 and the newest gameplay trailer for Kingdom Hearts III. As a staunch believer in all things Disney.. I APPROVE OF ALL OF THIS. I should go buy 1.5.. ASAP. Payday can't come soon enough!
So, arguably the biggest topic about this generation is:DIGIVOLVE INTO MEGA MEGA EVOLUTION!
In short, the mechanic is a temporary stat boost that uses up a monster's item slot for one battle. The monster gains a new form, a boost in one or more stats (I think the most so far is 2?), possibly new types, and different (new for some?) abilities! If you couldn't tell from that long sentence, I don't know much about the details either. However, I JUST got through the plot point in the story about mega evolution - and finally saw it in action. SPOILERS (nothing detailed, just in case though)
Okay, Dlanijer, what are you writing about, then? It's been awhile since I've picked up a Pocket Monsters game seriously. But I must say.. the little 'episode' on when you get to finally witness mega evolutions.. that was heart warming for me! If you've already seen the four episode special animation, Pocket Monster: The Origin, it was basically that kind of bonding in a shorter time. Once you get to witness the culmination of a bond between trainer and monster into this magical new ability with total shounen manga written all over it.. yeah. It was UH-MAZE-BALLS. And I loved the monster they chose to first display it with. It literally makes me want to stick with them through the elite four and to the end of the main story!
Anyways: special thanks goes out to everyone I added from the X/Y Friend Code Thread! If you added me back, even MORE gratitude to you too! And to everyone that's interacted with me in the past few days since I joined - you are all awesome! I made the PERFECT choice in a community to join. Everyone's nice, generous, and very helpful. I like knowing that we can all help each other. I will gladly help to the best of my ability as well!
Quick main story update: Got the third badge, back tracking a bit.. .and dear heavens planting and pulling 36 trees-worth of berries... sooooooooo much (sarcasm) fun (end sarcasm). Hopefully I'll finish the main game by the end of the week and finally get to finding more monsters (Kanto monsters, my favorite region of monsters!)
