BANDWAGON TIME!

Lots of other forums are doing them, so why not jump on the proverbial bandwagon: Forum feedback!

If you have any suggestions on how to improve Culture & Media, feel free to post them here. I'll put subscriptions on this blog post and forward an announcement here, so don't worry if you've been sent here and this message is now two weeks old or something: I'll still get to it.

Don't be shy, but try and be constructive in any criticism you give. I can't really work with "C&M is crap! You're crap! Go away!" I can, on the other hand, work with "C&M is crap! You're crap! Try doing ______"

I don't like having too many stickies, so that's why I'm doing it as a blog post, in case anyone is wondering why.

And now, for those who were promised bandwagons:

I don't think there's anything wrong with C&M; people just aren't interested in posting there, and never have been. Even if you had a firework display, I don't think that could be changed.

As Vendak said, there's nothing wrong with C&M, although I think C&M Daily, did affect the activity a little negatively, as it now depends on the current topic and whether you can or not find a linker; but until C&M and J-E are merged,if that ever happens, you won't find much activity,sorry.

Echoing the previous posters above me, there's nothing wrong with C&M. I really don't see why there's not more activity there, really. It's a fun place and I think that if more people simply appreciated C&M more, more discussion threads would pop up. Ideally, I would like C&M to be a hybrid of what it is now, except with the activity of OVP and the discussion of OC. I would like it of there were more people to have a serious discussion about TV, movies, music etc but I would also like the slightly calmer atmosphere of OVP as well, where you can be as serious or as jokey as you like. I quite liked Andy's Golden Globes thread as it drew people into C&M that didn't usually go there, even of it was only a guessing game of sorts. I'd like more threads like that, not necessarily guessing threads based around big events, but threads where everyone feels like they can jump in and have a fun time. With the awards season coming up, I think it would be a great time to create threads like this and try gain more posters. Of course, this is where we run into a problem. How do we get posters to walk the yellow brick road into C&M? Many have fallen before you trying to complete this seemingly Herculean task. That, as silly as this is despite all of my talk, I have no idea what to solve. I'd support anything that would bring activity into C&M really, as it is my favorite forum. But I just cannot think of anything right now. However, I'd love it if a group of C&M regulars (hell, anyone, really) were to voice around ideas or even create competitions that could be promoted by blogs, signatures, announcements etc. I'm sure this has been tried before, but if people were willing to give it a try, I'd love to do it.
